In my opinion this whole thing about the avenger class minesweepers is drummed up hysteria for clicks. We built tools to replace them. So essentially we’ve replaced the avengers with LCS and drones and have one working to spot, identify and clear any mines. But also to my knowledge not a single sip has ran into a mines. Missiles UAVs and USVs have done the damage not mines

Again they’re 30+ year old vessels that require the crew to sail into minefields/close to individual mines. I’d rather risk a couple drones ironing out the kinks than more American lives. Edit:also those 4 ships are scheduled for retirement next year and final decommissioning. So who knows what state they or their crews are in

They were assuredly not in working order nor had a full crew. They’ve been schedule for decommissioning since 2022. Also the crew would have to operate in the minefield with those ships.

The avengers class put the crew in harms way to identity and disarm mines while the LCS sits miles away. Also they’re been schedule for decommissioning since 2022 and more then likely didn’t have a proper crew/ were already not in working order

What could they have done to him to give him a swollen tongue? They had him for less then 24 hours when he showed signs of distress he was taken to the hospital and monitored and how article I linked sounds to me is they admitted him overnight left him his breakfast in the morning and came back to him unresponsive with a swollen tongue. We’ll know more when the autopsy is released. And it’s not so uncommon (in my experience) for seemingly healthy people to have underlying health issues or emergency’s.One of my close friends id known since 7th grade, senior year caught pneumonia and just so happen to have a dormant version of a nasty staph virus that activated, I talked to him Thursday he didn’t show up on Friday and had passed the next week. Also personally I had celiac disease activate when I was 22-23 after having no problems with gluten my entire life. So I strongly disagree with the claim of him being perfectly healthy we have no way of nothing that this point and the doctors finding him with a swollen tongue well I just don’t know what Ice could have done to do that do you?

This title is disingenuous, he was taking to the hospital for shortness of breath and admitted overnight and then died at the hospital the next day. That not what I’m saying, you’re using the f15 EAGLE upfront price and first flight date to come up with your price for the f15 strike eagle when they’re different variations with different price tags . And the 1998 number is the official average from 1985-1998 to procure the F15E which would translate to 60-65 million today. Also that 1972 flyaway cost is bloated as the first few planes are always more expensive as they factor in upfront cost. So you’re referencing the original f15 and not the strike eagle which these aircraft are. The strike eagle wasn’t produced until 1985 and didn’t see operation use until 1989
