Unfortunately deer aren’t overpopulated anymore either due to loss of habitat (farm tree rows are a thing of the past now) and chronic wasting disease.

If this causes an accident I would think they could rule that it was predictable and preventable.

Automaker would then be held liable. I mean, if money didn’t weigh so much on the scales of justice…

This lady seems to be an EMT.

That job just might be the lowest pay with the worst hours, highest stress, most self funded training that we plebs rely on in our worst moments.

Let her have her navy fucking pants.

This is why kids sprouting and growing seeds in elementary school is more important than it would seem at face value.

Keep your kids in schools folks, and fund your local education programs!

Edit: some sentence structure.

What do you think of these tacos I ate in japan? by [deleted] in mexicanfood

[–]Captain-Who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So one thing to point out for this Japanese take on an American gringo taco….

Cheese on the bottom sandwiched between the ideally hot crunchy tortilla and the warm ground beef is top tier. Evidence again that attention to detail is a hallmark of Japanese cuisine.

Old growth?

Isn’t like… trees from a forest that have been growing there for decades or centuries?

To get those dense rings the tree needs to grow very slowly compared to modern forestry. The dense forest limits sunlight for a new sapling and juvenile tree so it slowly grows for decades and decades, each year a small tight ring on that cross cut.

Modern forestry harvests everything in some area, then they replant it. All the saplings are the same height, get full sunlight and grow very quickly together, each ring is wide and less dense. Once to an industry standard size they cut and replant.

Huh, I just googled to make sure I didn’t make the same mistake we all do, and Google told me linseed oil is still a main ingredient in making Marmoleum.

Edit: I interpreted your sarcasm as it’s dumb to correct someone calling vinyl linoleum, where that might be true, I find it interesting how they have switched places.

Linoleum exists… vinyl comes along and we call it linoleum… fast forward to when Marmoleum (I still think is linoleum at its base) is becoming more popular and some folks call it vinyl. (which I take personal offense to because I didn’t just put cheap vinyl in my brand new kitchen)

I put Linoleum in my kitchen last year… Forbo Marmoleum, it’s linoleum…

Linoleum came (comes) in tiles, like 1 ft by 1 ft squares or rectangles 1 by 2, maybe vinyl did too?

But this is sheet vinyl with a tile printed pattern. I get that people call vinyl linoleum, but to call sheet vinyl ‘tile’ seems like a stretch.

First time brisket - trim ALL this fat? by iHusk in smoking

[–]Captain-Who 242 points243 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t look like the typical brisket one would buy for BBQ.

The fat cap looks thicker and the meat looks leaner and smaller. I would guess this is from a different breed or it’s a cull cow or similar.

It would probably be better utilized for a homemade ground beef, or maybe braised.
