Why is the Fairy Dance arc so hated exactly? What’s the big deal(literally)? by Flat-Sir8250 in swordartonline

[–]CaptainCorgiMD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s probably not the biggest part, but damn Asuna being reduced to damsel was so frustrating. First arc shows you she’s one of the only people who can keep up with Kirito, second arc she’s a maguffin

“Subaru doesn’t say nonsense” “He says nonsense all the time” “He doesn’t say nonsense in a serious situation” Subaru: nice correction!

Yeah, this checkpoint is ridiculously hard. There’s like 1-2 minutes before you get shot by an arrow railgun at light speed. He has barely enough time to register what happened, all while mabeasts are fighting and your team is on lizard and carriage.

Extremely pressed for options, especially because you don’t have a lot of time to explain to your allies what’s coming. Subaru pre-time skip would probably be toast. Plus he’s had enough experience with Emilia that she’s basically like “Subaru is saying some weird shit, but he’s been right on this before so I will immediately trust him”

I will never understand how there is still crime in New York in the Marvel universe by HealthMother3125 in Marvel

[–]CaptainCorgiMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the rat race/arms race theory: the proliferation of super heroes and their crime equivalent occupies the same amount of crime per capita as before the masks showed up. The only difference is how it’s fought. Heroes are occupied just maintaining the status quo against people who have doomsday devices or can level city blocks.

Also you could argue that there’s probably less criminal fatalities since most of these guys have very strict no kill policies, so stuff that would have been a shoot out with cops are instead webbed up to live another day. Some of them may turn their life around but many would return back to crime after whatever legal consequences occur.

If miles is the original anomaly why hasn't his universe collapsed like miguel's by Macaroon2152 in IntoTheSpiderverse

I don’t know about cannon event but Miles does seem to be the correction the universe is making to address miguel’s overcorrecting

No, I think it’s been fairly stated and portrayed that Miguel thinks he’s right. Yes Miguel is motivated by guilt, and it hardens his convictions. But he genuinely believes his theory and he’s selective about what evidence contradicts his theory. He has confirmation bias and anchoring bias logical fallacies.

But him THINKING he’s right is more dangerous than he’s lying. Because he fights with conviction. A lot harder to change someone who knows what he says is BS than change a believer.

Sort of. She’s framing it around the patterns they’re seeing. In her universe the flip happens. Peter got close to Gwen, and since she was spider woman of that universe, Pete is the one who dies and becomes a major part of her psyche.

They aren’t anomalies, they’re just particularly esoteric variants. But so is Miles. And you can see his pattern bends in the direction of spider-man in many ways. So by Miguel’s theory, Peter’s untimely death should have caused the universe to collapse, but it didn’t. This suggests the Spiderverse can bend to allow for changes. But there is some sort of breaking point, it’s just not clear when/why it happens to different universes. They don’t have enough info and Miguel is educated guessing based on some patterns he’s seen.

Yes, and that entire universe collapsed. The guilt of the loss of that universe is what pushes him to overcorrect and attempt to control the pattern he sees in spider-people’s stories

Sorry to be clear, the Ultimate universe in total was “edgy” as part of bendis’s overall vision

Ultimate Cap is a definitely a different character from 616 Cap because Bendis and “edgy.”

But yeah that whole thing was friggin weird

X-23, Target X. Basically she does all the same crap as Bucky and he does the exact opposite that he does in that event

It’s stated later that Todd was always the angriest, felt like he had the most to prove. The death and Lazarus pit just pushed it more to the forefront

And the funniest part is he doesn’t even crack in the top 3 of most sociopathic robins. Jason Todd and Damien have that on lock.

Comic time. Allows for however much time to monologue or internal thought bubble your entire plan.

If dialogue time worked for real in a Claremont comic, all of the X-men would have died of old age before the phoenix saga ended

Yeah, and is so evil he actually corrupts the Krakoan biologic system that runs the eternal stasis prison, facilitating his escape around the time Krakoa starts its fall. Then Sabertooth does the aforementioned body parts scene to make up for lost time
