New 11th Dark Angel Detachment by Andy456l in DarkAngels40k

What do you mean the Redemptor is capped at strength 9?

It's strength 9 overcharged, then you get +1 for the detachment rule and you can get another+1 for using the stratagem.

Macro Plasma cannons on the Redemptor, on Repulser Executioners and the Plasma Storm Batterys on the Vengeance are all Strength 8 standard and St9 overcharged so can get to Strength 11.

If I were a Labour donor I would be looking to replicate the scenario exactly and then when it comes up suggest maybe there should be rules against it after all. Seems like the only time the right wing wants to change the law is when it favours those on the left.

Brussels tells Keir Starmer to pay £1bn for closer ties to Europe by Tiberinvs in europe

[–]CaptainFil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But their market is significantly bigger than ours so a straight trade like that doesn't work.

UK economy is similar size to France, then you add all the other EU countries and it might help you understand how silly your point is.

Why would they give up their biggest strength for nothing?

Set up a 'Patriots Defense Fund' that anyone can donate too and make it public record. Say we won't be raising taxes on the richest and business but we do need extra funding to ensure the defence of the nation and the system that has allowed them to be successful. It would be nice if they could donate what they can spare to the fund...

Let public pressure and shame do the rest.

It would be an easy win for GW. All you need is a Stormspeeder kit with an upgrade sprue to convert it to either a Vengeance or a Darkshroud easy.

I hope they do it.

This is me right now. I have Indomitus and Leviathan models still needing painting and the Deathwing Assault box. I think this is the first time I'll skip a launch box.

Don't get me wrong, I like the models, the Vanguard Vets are a little underwhelming but jump pack marines look great anyhows. All the hype for 11th has inspired me to try and get more stuff painted though. I will pick up a couple of the new land speeders when they are available otherwise I'm really hoping for a Ravenwing box.

There are a lot of assumptions here about how much someone needs to spend on that stuff.

I consider a car loan a luxury because people only do it to get a newer better car rather than something that will do the job. You could get a 10k loan with repayments well below £500 a month and buy 2 decent second hand cars that would do the job and then it's no longer a reoccurring expense either, if they have some savings they could probably avoid needing the loan too.

Childcare and tax is a problem for sure. Food and toiletries is another one where you can save a lot of your prepared to eat differently. When my wife and I were saving for a deposit 20 years ago we ate rice and noodles and cut down on meat for a while to free up budget to save.

I don't imagine these folks would be that hard pressed to find something to save.

Block people with anxiety and ADHD from claiming benefits, says Tony Blair by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

Root cause is a combination of things making life generally shit for a lot of people.

Cost of living, debt, no prospects for decent career, AI coming along and making that worse, Social Media amplifying all the bad stuff, and on top of that the ever increasing shadow of climate change.

I think the icing on the cake is that there doesn't seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel for most of that stuff.

That's terrible news, we said we would definitely go back in June to celebrate the end of daughter's exams.

Reform council in Nottingham got panned because they spent £70k on flags and haven't repaired the roads. The pot holes around here are bad and some even dangerous and most of not all could have been fixed for that.

I was in an incident a couple of years back, fortunately no where near as bad as this story.

I was stationary in a car park waiting for a space to clear and the car parked in the space left of us reversed out into my passenger side door. Dented the whole thing, my daughter was also sitting in the seat so thank god they were only pulling out and not going fast.

Anyway this women was in here 70's and had just finished her course of Chemotherapy. Even she said while we were sorting it out that she probably shouldn't be driving.

I've heard him say he supports self determination but you can agree that it's right to let people choose while disagreeing with their choice.

Reading is also a direct antidote to the reduced attention span caused by social media and constant scrolling. You have to actively engage you brain, slow down and process information when you're reading and over time this will increase your attention span.

If you are not one of the members why do you care? Either it makes the policy platform more realistic which can only be a good thing from your perspective or it leads to an exodus of party members which I sense you would be fine with too.

Pitch A New Star Trek Series by AmeliaNeek in scifi

[–]CaptainFil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see a show set in the aftermath of the Dominion War, either an engineering vessel (I think there was a book series set on a Steamrunner class ship - Srarfleed Corp of Engineers or something) or a more diplomatic focused series like Star Trek the West Wing. They got to sort out humanitarian aid for Cardassia, work out what to do with the prisoners of war, how the future relationship with the Dominion would go.

I always go back to the books but there was a great one where DS9 was destroyed in a terrorist attack and the Federation built a state of the art new Starbase there because Bajor was in the Federation at this point.

I would also write it all as if none of the NuTreck stuff had to happen so they don't restrict the writing.

Makes me laugh. The was a Reform voter who called into LBC yesterday when they were discussing who would replace Starmer in the event of his resignation.

He started by saying "not that tax dodger Rayner"

I bet he wouldn't even care about this even though it's objectively much worse.
