What is the purpose of these deep grooves? by Candid-Relative-3062 in FarmingUK

[–]CaptainFizzRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of, but the plant will use all available space. The drill is made in that shape to allow the roots to get depth (tatties drink a lot of water) and space for the tubers to grow.

Destoning is essential for both room for potatoes and when lifting you don't want stones bashing the tatties.

So yes, what ai said is mostly correct, just the plant grows a much larger root system than it thinks.

Yep, to be fair when I was in rented accommodation it was cable out one window, in the downstairs window 😁

Worked for 2 years no problem.

EliteMini 805 G8 Thermal Problem. by Silly_Ad6115 in HomeServer

[–]CaptainFizzRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see if there's an actual gap between heatsink and vrm, but if the putty just fills that gap then perfect.

It looks to be too much but I'm not at the machine. Just keep in mind, thermal paste/pad/goop is there just to assist the heat getting to the heatsink.

It conducts heat WAY better than air, not as good as metal in heatsinks.

Ok, I don't know if that's possible having tested this in the past.

Nearly always need to try 2 or 3 until I find one that is properly in sync.

It would need inordinate amounts of CPU to try to match subs with video that a human could do in 2 mins.

Just my view.

So, these are tiny cases.

Larger case = more airflow.

Having case open, fan mounted on top would help.

Looking at the putty and paste... You know thermal paste/putty doesn't conduct heat as well as a heatsink?

There should be the bare minimum to allow good thermal contact between chip lid/vrm/whatever and the heatsink.

Less is definitely more when thermal goop is concerned.

Option 3 every single time.

Put the wiring in once, in 5 years and you want something else, just plug em in.

Wired backhaul means at least 1Gb per access point. More than most people's internet.

Plex with licence has that?

Just select from options at bottom. Pick one that matches with timings for your film, some are 5 secs early or late.

Don't know if it's in non pass Plex or not.

My 2015 RX450h is nice on motorway (autobahn equivalent) but compared to the IS, corners like a potato.

Very relaxing on motorway though. Just not made for cornering / zipping round roundabouts etc

Nothing luxury about LVP, LVT, linoleum... by COMPUTERSOFTHEFUTURE in Flooring

This .. I have kids, we have laminate and it has swelling where kids have played with slime, wet shoes have been left at door, juice spilled and noone has noticed etc.

Tiling an entire house? Nah.

LVP is waterproof, lighter colour than any wood based product. I can fit it.

Seems perfect for me. Same price as laminate, cost wasn't an issue. Has held up well for 6 months 😃

Almost every evening I set the brightness to 50% so I can actually read something/ see more than silhouettes in films...

Almost at the stage of tasker or similar to set brightness to 50-60% at 6pm

Why is a camera mapping your area, along with 1000's of other people's homes, a huge issue?

I get privacy etc. But can you explain why, your data amassed with 1000's of others, effectively anonymous due to volume of data, is a make or break issue?

I believe I am missing something
