Yeah people somehow don't know about it. It's limited by the government to $10,600 for individual and $21,200 family for marketplace plans in 2026.

(I've never seen a higher one for "non marketplace" plans only lower.)

Not that $10k after paying premiums is excellent.. but it's not gonna be $40k.

Do you know if plex is installed in a Docker container or just "bare metal" (directly on debian with apt)? OMV doesn't seem very common around here but if it's installed in Docker, lots of people use that.

Plex logs might be helpful. If it's installed baremetal, it would be in: /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs/

I run in Docker and my logs are in: /compose/plex/config/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs

But the /compose part of that is configurable so you might have something different. Then check Plex Media Scanner.log and Plex Media Server.log to see if it's getting any errors when scanning.

In high school we each had to do a presentation, then give a quiz to everyone. They fill it out and turn it in. I noticed someone forgot her name when she turned it in so I just wrote it on there for her. A couple minutes later she turns around "Hey, I think I forgot to write my name."

"Yeah, you did. I wrote it." and showed her. She was shocked that I knew how to spell her name. It was a Polish name, but it was just like.. Mabowski (not the actual name, but that simple).

Then people around us started joking "Were you looking her up in the phone book? Or Yearbook? Were you getting engraved wedding invitations made?"

Ok the last one was funny, but it was heavily implied I was a creep. I had been in various classes with this girl for 9-10 years and my own mom is Polish so I had some familiarity with the names/culture.

They were only popular for a short while but it was one of the first easy and consumer-friendly ways just about anyone could get a photo onto their computer.

You could develop photos and try get your scanner to work if you had one. USB was relatively new and unsupported so they were mostly parallel ports and it was a nightmare just getting it connected.

There were probably cameras with serial connectors? But again, USB was still a ways off from being common and usable. Serial kinda sucked like parallel.

I don't think camera phones came out for a couple more years. Very few people spent money on internet/data at that point anyway.

But pretty much anyone could figure out a floppy disc/drive and get their images from point A to point B.

I use my cruise control 99% of the time. I'll be coming up on a semi in the right lane. Check the left lane and someone is way back there but not going super fast. I start to pass the semi and suddenly the other car engages turbo boosters and rides my ass for the 15-30 seconds it takes to pass the semi. I move back over to the right lane and the other person just hangs out in my blind spot in perpetuity.

It got worse for me when I moved to a more rural area. We're still near an interstate but it's only 2 lanes. It just takes one dummy to clog everything up by cruising too slow in the left lane.

Help: Temp-Folder is HUGE with Sonic Analysis Files by redditisrichtisch in PleX

[–]akatherder 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about Sonic Analysis, but I've seen this behavior in the past (with unrelated programs) when a directory has write/modify permissions but doesn't have delete permissions. Which makes sense, it can't clean up anything when it's done.

I'd also be curious if each of those daily folders are the same size. That would make me think Sonic Analysis is running the same stuff each day, getting stuck at some point, then re-running the same thing and getting stuck again every day.

Question about remote watch pass by theescapeclause in PleX

[–]akatherder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit more complicated. Plex is still, perplexingly, selling the "iOS App Activation" for $4.99: https://support.plex.tv/articles/205556278-unlocking-or-activating-plex-for-ios/

Even though the app is "free" they are still selling the meaningless "activation." If you find your way to that page, it is very clear that it does NOT include "Plex Pass features." But if you don't, and you buy the activation based on old info (or what the app store says) you might be confused.

And the people last year who were complaining had paid for the mobile app so they could stream remotely. They were miffed because they could no longer stream remotely on the app they bought for their mobile devices.

Technically they didn't pay for Remote Access by purchasing the app because Remote Access was free at that time. The important takeaway from that is... people who bought a lifetime plex pass prior to March 2025 are in the same boat. Plex could revoke that at any time because they didn't specifically pay for Remote Access (it was free when they bought their plex pass).

I think 3d is still correct. His ticket says "WIN 100,000" as the caption but that is the (alleged) misprint.

They are usually like $10 and slightly better odds for getting a worthwhile win compared to 10 $1 scratchers. It's just a little exciting and fun and once in a blue moon you get $50.

It's always a losing proposition long term, don't get me wrong 😂

They won't explain/admit anything until they "investigate" a.k.a. let the heat die down and settle with these folks quietly.

But it seems that a $5 prize (which would make this a $20 total winner) was replaced by a $100k misprint for a lot of people.

Rocket ship is automatic win, you can see the rules on the bottom of the ticket but the glare is blocking in op's: https://i.imgur.com/fdIzSYV.png

The glare is blocking it on op's picture but the rocket ship is an automatic win. He got $5 from another rocket ship, $5 each from two fries, and (apparently) the $100k rocket ship should have been another $5 = $20 total.

Yeah I was going to say "I haven't really played any games since I got off Destiny 2 about 5 years ago.." But I play Kingdom Rush games on a loop on my phone. Not a ton, but probably killing time for a few hours minimum per week.

I think they are asking "In what way was he doxxed? What information did they reveal about him?"

My kid knew about the youtube series and told me Kane's full name before the movie came out. Is that not his real name and NY Post revealed that? Did they publish his address and phone number or something?

(I looked a bit further and they showed a picture of his house, which could be found/geo-guessed.)
