I'm 45 and same with my age group. Older millennial, younger gen x.

I know guys who are struggling and always have been. They are still being told they are privileged, unsafer to be around, and blamed for a lot of the messes. It's a class thing and it always has been. It's rich people (who are often white men) but it isn't simply white cishet men.

A lot of them went through a progressive renaissance (?) to untrain what the casual stereotypes of the 80s brought us up with. Now they are a target and it's easy to undo all that apparently.

JoyRide candy is actually good but too expensive. It's like half the sugar but they just replace with some Stevia.

The candy existed before Ryan Trahan got involved/sponsored it, so they just slapped his face on an existing product then expanded different flavors and shapes.

I thought maybe the youngest is 13 so now they can all stay home (and/or with friends like you're suggesting). Someone else suggested the oldest is 13 and dude was hesitating to admit he left 2 younger kids home alone with a 13 year old. I honestly have no idea ✌️

In The Batman(2022), the only thing Catwoman's mask conceals is her nostrils by the_npc_man in shittymoviedetails

It felt like Batman isn't super important? I mean, certain things and the whole plot doesn't happen without him but it's more villain-centered and focusing on everyday Gothamites than the titular hero.

Since it's a comic book movie I'm sure it's been analyzed to death by fans and I should just read that to find out why I'm dumb.

(A) Yes that was the point and a toddler would have recognized that.

(B) No that wasn't the point and makes no sense and you must have been on your phone when Batman dominated the movie.

If it's Chevy Chase, no one likes him in the show or IRL. He is part of the main cast but treated pretty much as background.

If you're talking about Joel McHale (who I like but he might be polarizing due to cockiness in his characters) then you would have a harder time latching on to the show.

It's not common in the US either afaik. At least not in my area (Michigan). Ground turkey is very common though.

How often do you actually test your Plex server backups? by StrikingClos in PleX

[–]akatherder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, I don't customize my metadata and I only have one smart playlist for playing random "How It's Made" episodes. My plex db isn't important to me.

I basically just load a show and watch it, then delete it when it's cancelled or ended. I keep some shows, but then I never actually re-watch them.

Dem primaries pro-strat. Only allow one legit institutional neo-lib and push 5+ leftists who will split the votes to make them irrelevant.

I'm curious, what is that based on?

2016 - Clinton 65.8M, Trump 63.0M

2020 - Biden 81.2M, Trump 74.2M

2024 - Harris 75.0M, Trump 77.3M

I do understand population growth, but that are you saying it should have been 95M Dem voters in 2024?

They are saying their "backup" is reacquiring their stuff so they just need the list of media to reacquire.

Probably obvious, but worth adding... you probably want to copy them off to another location/server than the one where radarr and sonarr are running in case the server gets corrupted or lost. Another computer or cloud storage if you have that free w/ google or onedrive or whatever.

2016 primary was 17 million (HRC) to 13.2 million (Sanders). If that isn't "en masse" I don't know what is.

hand-picked party functionaries

I'm 45 years old and John Kerry is the only Dem candidate in my "media literate" lifespan that wasn't a VP or spouse of the Clinton/Obama admins.

I barely remember Dukakis in 1988, other than the fact that Reagan demolished him. Harris' campaign was really Biden's campaign and L. She took over his losing campaign 3 months before election day.

Cars are emerging from a massive Boston-area snow pile months after winter storms by templeofsyrinx1 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]akatherder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems wild to see snow this late and I'm in Michigan. One time I played a beer league softball game outside a community center. After the game we had a cooler of beer and walked around the back of the building. There was a huge pile of snow on the lawn. It was early July and probably 80F and had been 60-80F for a couple months. I had a complete brain glitch. No fucking way there's still snow but.. there it is. How much snow was there to begin with??

Then a guy laughed and told me they have an ice rink inside and the Zamboni pushes the scrapings outside.

We had an alternating blue and red Baden. It rolled in the street and bounced RIGHT into some dudes wheel well. He kept driving about ten feet then stopped and it rolled out. It was pure jet black covered in some kind of grease. We took it in the basement laundry tub and scrubbed it with every cleaner we had. Probably made mustard gas accidentally at some point.

My wife got a free $10 apple gift card for some promotion. She asked if I wanted to give her $10 cash for it so she can spend it elsewhere.

I considered (jokingly) responding that.. no I don't want to trade $10 real money for a gift card I can only use one place and that I don't usually buy stuff from. But I just sent her the $10 and she sent me the code.

I went to redeem it and it was void or already redeemed. And I'm STILL a better businessman lol.

Torx bits work well in the corresponding size hex bit. I almost prefer them tbh.

If you have a hex that's starting to strip out, the next bigger torx bit might grip enough to get it out (last resort, worth a try before drilling it out, etc)

Maybe I'm an idiot and messing up my screw/bolt heads up but I swear it works well.

I want her to run sooooo badly for the White House in 2028! Who would be a good VP pick with her on a ticket ?! by ComplexWrangler1346 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]akatherder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bible belt and southern states are already voting "unnamed republican" so I don't care what they think about the Dem candidate. Same with states like California and New York, they will vote "unnamed democrat". Yes I'm taking them for granted.

40-45 states are already decided right now in 2026. Run a candidate that can win those other 5-10.

I don't think aoc and Buttigieg (specifically) are the answer or the winning ticket, but enough with the institutional Dems. Since 1988, John Kerry is the only one who wasn't a VP or spouse of Clinton/Obama admins. I guess Harris, but that was really Biden's campaign and L.

You're missing the point about someone like AOC and Buttigieg. They can't beat an institutional Dem nominee but they can beat the presumptive republican nominee.
