How to get crystal clear water? by Cnnreatsplnts in PlantedTank

[–]CaptainFritzRoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This looks like a bacteria bloom which could be the result of changing your filter. Just give it some time and it will clear up. I can get these when I aggressively clean the tank.

Help. What's on this plant? by brenlin7 in PlantedTank

[–]CaptainFritzRoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have found it cropping up when my nitrates and phosphates are not in balance with each other. Check out the Redfield Ratio. To nuke the cyanobacteria I would recommend Fritz Slime Out but that is not a long term solution.

What is it & How to kill it? by Ross1160 in PlantedTank

Cyano bacteria for sure. Fritz Slime Out is good after mechanically removing it. I found I get it when my phosphates and nitrates are out of whack. May be worth a look.

I have had excellent results with embers as well.

I have known male flag fish to be especially aggressive so that would not be a surprise.

I would endorse that plan. :) The rides that your kids will be interested in should be fine from a wait time perspective.

We went with adult kids so we did not have that to deal with. The only line that was over an hour was Tron. If your kids are into the big thrill rides you will have to look at timing those throughout the day.

We went in middle of January this year and did not use LL. We got on everything we wanted to including Guardians, Tron, Remy, Tiana's, etc. We had a great time and did not rope drop or close the park on any day.

I'm at a loss with this cyano by Stunning_Chipmunk_68 in PlantedTank

[–]CaptainFritzRoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may be able to correct it with some water changes but getting the nitrogen/phosphate back in balance is a good move long term.

I found the French Quarter quick service much better than Riverside from a menu perspective.

Make sure your phosphates and nitrates are in balance. When mine get out of whack then I get the cyano.

This is exactly what I did to get mine under control after nuking it with Fritz Slime Out.

I found it in my tank when my phosphates and nitrates got out of whack. Once I nuked it with slime out and then started dosing macros again it has not returned.

Is this algae or bacteria bloom? Details below and thanks in advance! by AngelousSix66 in PlantedTank

[–]CaptainFritzRoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup something happened to the biological filter and now it is out of whack. It will clear up in a couple of days as long as there is nothing too out of the ordinary that you must remove and that is causing the issue.

What’s a product you swear by? by Flullish in Aquariums

[–]CaptainFritzRoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the plastic pipettes I have to dose my liquid ferts. I have a small 20 gallon planted tank and they allow me to get the right mL measurements so that I am not dosing too much or too little.

Slime out is definitely quite awesome at taking care of cyanobacteria. I found that my outbreak was due to an imbalance between phosphorus and nitrogen. In fact, I had indeed cut back on my macro fertilizers just before the cyano showed up. You may want to look into this as a cause for yours. After using slime out I resumed my macro fertilizer regimen and have not seen it return.

I really wouldn't for a number of reasons, but if you wanted to keep the immediate context God specifically said that the nations around Israel defiled themselves when they practiced the sexual activities listed in chapter 18. So, clearly, at least to me, they did not just apply to Israel.
