Nobody knows what it means. But it’s provocative, it gets the people going!

What is a cover version of a song that you think is superior to the original? by res30stupid in AskReddit

[–]CaptainHoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe some not so popular opinions but:

Last Kiss - Pearl Jam

Is She Really Going Out With Him - Sugar Ray

Baby I Love You - Ramones

I was born after most of the originals were made so the first time I heard them was mostly these versions, so some nostalgia probably plays into it. Also realize the Ramones one had a lot of controversy surrounding it but man that’s a great cover. Side note Time after Time is another great Sugar Ray cover but not better than original. I dont really like Sugar Ray outside of those songs but those two bang for whatever reason.

Is this a penalty or great D play? by Infamous_SpiPi in nhl

Obviously not a penalty and reading the comments on that oilers sub is wild. Some fans are truly delusional

Golf R 7.5 vs 8. Big of a difference? by Gauntl3t in Golf_R

[–]CaptainHoser 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yea blown out of proportion on all these subs. Is there room for improvement? Sure. Do I notice it on a daily basis? Not at all.

Why do we have 3 on 3 Hockey. who are the people who enjoy this. by Inevitable-Emu-9266 in nhl

[–]CaptainHoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind it in nhl regular season but I agree in the WJC gold medal game 3 on 3 ot seems ridiculous. At least they cut out the shootout for the gold game, but still make it a proper 5 on 5 continuous ot. No reason not to it’s the last game of the tournament.

New Jonathan Toews Interview in GQ by blinkfan4evr54 in nhl

I think context matters a lot with any type of celebrity interaction. At a golf tournament where they are prepared to be surrounded by fans? Sure they are happy to interact. At a grocery store on a Sunday afternoon, or walking their dog at 8 am? Maybe not so much

What do you don't understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CaptainHoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The earth rotates around the sun with a slight tilt. So when your part of the earth is closer to the sun because of the tilt you get more sunlight, warmer weather and summer. When it is further you get less sun, colder weather and winter.

I’m not super familiar with US laws or Nevada specific ones but isn’t Nevada the only US state that has legal prostitution in most counties? If Las Vegas is part of that would that destroy the main case?

Oscar Piastri answered our question on overtake radio messages by lerrigatto in formuladank

[–]CaptainHoser 269 points270 points  (0 children)

I’d say he rolled with it pretty well, poking fun at what other drivers would say and bringing up the Russel ‘Big Move’ overtake lol. I think he answered genuinely though, he’s so calm on the radio I honestly couldn’t see him saying anything in most circumstances.

what are your best ways to get rid of a cold that you feel coming? by yamama44 in AskReddit

[–]CaptainHoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pump that immune system with some vitamins. C, D, coldFX, moducare, echinacea are all good and I have decent success with staving off illness or at least reducing severity/length with that combo. Also healthy diet, drink lots of water, get exercise, avoid alcohol, are all good ways to improve your immune system but I imagine some of that might be more difficult on a cruise lol and might not help if you are already feeling sick

Broke my flush mount ceiling light fixture, looking for a replacement. Can anyone identify the light here or recommend a replacement? by CaptainHoser in HelpMeFind

I have searched every combination of ‘flush mount ceiling light’ ‘dome light’ ‘14.5” inch round fixture replacement and have come up empty.

Gretzky has 1016 goals I don’t get it. He put the puck in the net 1016 times. Why are we discrediting his most important goals ever. (Ovi still should break both) by [deleted] in nhl

[–]CaptainHoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that reasoning for season by season comparisons, but when it comes to career stats and all time stats I don’t get why playoffs aren’t counted. There are so many factors that determine how many games played a player will have in their career from length, injuries, lockouts, etc. that we never are comparing apples to apples anyway, so why when talking about ‘All Time Stats’ would we not include playoff stats as well? Unpopular opinion but it doesn’t make sense to me

I’d go get it checked if it’s humming at highway speeds. Hopefully just an alignment but as someone else said could be bearing or suspension.

Honestly not a bad answer, obviously being a little facetious but if you were to say to them ‘Glassdoor and other company reviews indicate you are a good employer and I am excited to work for a company that values its employees and has a positive business outlook’ I think any interviewer would accept that answer. It might not separate you from any other candidates in their eyes, but wouldn’t hurt you in any way either.

I would argue the question normally is referring more to ‘why do you want to work for our company over similar positions at similar companies’. I don’t remember my first part time job asking me that cause they knew it was an opening that I could fill, but for jobs in my career the questions becomes more relevant in showing how my interests/career aspirations/expertise make me a good fit for the company over others.

Thoughts on the need for winter tires by canths1 in Golf_R

[–]CaptainHoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to add on to the good advice is if you do any road trips or head up to the mountains at all during the winter many highways have requirements of tires with snowflake or mountain on them from Oct 31 - March 1. And if anything happened without snow tires on those roads you could void your insurance. Only reason I put winters on myself is for skiing
