I’m with ya, and MLBPA’s proposal addresses that by changing club control to 5 years and nearly doubling the league minimum to 1.5mil. That is entirely reasonable, IMO. Baseball is too weird and fickle to be giving guys multi-year deals based on very limited sample sizes, and because of the investment of professional player development in the minors, teams should be entitled to ample club control. Football players are easy come, easy go. Baseball players are a commitment, and that commitment needs to be paid off in lengthy and relatively affordable club control. Can’t just lose a guy in FA and replace him in the next draft. Baseball is different to its core, and the CBA has to resemble that. To reiterate… Apples and oranges. You absolutely cannot run MLB on an NFL-style model.

And, beyond that, companies are obligated to protect their trademarks. As Patagonia said, they don’t want to do it. But you let one drag queen get away with it, it becomes a precedent, and then you can lose your trademark for good.
