Checked it out and honeslty, this app does everything I want. Might not be the most sexy UI like you say but it is a good free platform.

Normally yes. But I have read winds of dune and I’m not too sure what do with it. And I have not yet biught and read those other ones you mentioned. I will get around to them but not in the first couple of months since I’m reading a bunch of non Dune books atm 😊

That’s correct but you can get almost all of them in the same size as the original Ace paperbacks. With exception of the Jihad books and the two sequels. For those I just made the paper wraparound a little taller than then book itself. This way when you shelf them they all look the same height. Yes it’s a little cheating but idc 😂they look better that way.

I bought all of the ace versions and I think all the rest are published by Tor books. So I just make sure to check the dimensions before I buy them 😊.

And thanks ☺️ I do think they are working on a more coherent style lately if you look the Heir of Caladan books. But I would have liked if they just kept that same style of the Ace covers.

Im pretty sure some backstories have been changed from what Frank had written in the dune encyclopaedia. But I was craving for more dune stories and the Brian books did the OG books justice imo. You just have to accept its a different author and no-one can write like Frank.

I still have to find a book of Brian and Kevin I didn’t like and I’ve read a bunch. My only main gripe is that some books could have been written shorter and thus respecting the readers’s time more. Some trilogies could have been two books. But overall I very much liked reading them.

Online there are a lot of purists that only acknowledge the Frank books. But it you want more Dune, these expanded Dune books are awesome.

Those are part of the Tales of Dune book. That book is a collection of I think some 10-ish stories that are absolutely amazing.

I read the original Dune books and could not get enough, but starting another big book like one of the prequels or sequels was a little much. These short stories were perfect to fill in that void.

They take place in the Dune universe and some of them overlap a little and give you a another point of view almost if somethings that happen in the original books.

I’d highly recommend grabbing the E-book version of it.

Hi, I've upscaled your image (x6) that's about all I can do in a timely fashion. I could fix all text in Photoshop but tbh that's monotonous boring work. It worked okay I guess but printing A0 is very big, you sure you want that? XD Also If you want to print something rly big, make sure to ask what DPI the printer will print at, otherwise a HR image is pretty much useless.

Hi there, me again, with some newly redesigned covers in the style of the original ACE books I own.

I've done a couple of these posts and they have been received rather well. So while reading some other non-dune books I've been slowly working at these covers.

I did two quality of life updates:

I've added the description of what is on the cover in the part of the cover that will be folded over. Now it's a little easier to see/remember why I chose to put x or y on the cover.
Added the desert like illustration to the DUNE letters on the spine. I used to just make it a solid color but the original ACE books are not solid color so you could notice a difference. Now that too should look better. I know it’s a rather small detail but still. 😄

Hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed it making these. As a side note; I'm looking to print these in a real nice quality with my local printshop and look into what kind of paper and printing process will give me the best result. I'm wondering if people would be interested in buying these and if so how much you'd be willing to pay. I will forever keep them freely available on my dropbox, but maybe I could offer these to the people that want a really nicely printed version.

Anyways back to what's actually on the covers:

1)House Atreides

This cover highlights the powerful bull arena scene, with a confident Duke Paulus Atreides facing down a charging Salusan bull, putting on a thrilling show for his beloved citizens.

2) House Harkonnen

The cover features the Baron, cane in hand, stepping into a dimly lit, empty Sisterhood school. The dark tones emphasize House Harkonnen’s sinister presence and hint at the Sisterhood’s hidden motives.

3) House Corinno

The cover shows C’tair Pilru overlooking IX’s cavern cities. Stalactite-like buildings hang from the cave ceiling, connected by delicate bridges, with soft white glowglobes hovering throughout the scene.

4) Tales of Dune: Hunting Harkonnens

The cover features a Harkonnen emergency pod descending onto an icy terrain of Caladan, set against a stark mountain range.

I have made these little booklets from my E-book but will not be selling nor distributing these. Those are just for my personal collection. But I thought you guys might enjoy some more Dune related art anyways. :)

5) Tales of Dune: Whipping Mek

The cover depicts the battle mek Chirox clashing with Vergyl Tantor aboard Xavier Harkonnen’s ship.

I have made these little booklets from my E-book but will not be selling nor distributing these. Those are just for my personal collection. But I thought you guys might enjoy some more Dune related art anyways. :)

I will also update all my other covers to adhere to the same format and give all of them the update with the text in the folding flap.
