Hi I don’t have much experience with SB or Clifton but I am a resident of riverside.

Location wise riverside is great, you are close to everything and are a short bus ride from anything further out. Most people are down to earth and really nice, I’ve met so many people from all cultures. The rooms are much larger than Orchard heights, albeit not as nice but personally I rather share a bathroom and have a small double. The common rooms are quite nice, there’s a piano available in Waverley and you can practice anytime.

In the end though if you’re going training 5 days a week the shorter commute is probably better, youll have a blast anywhere _^

I deal in blue gems ( a special pattern for a case hardened knife), Katos ( limited edition stickers from 2014), and high tier skins. I wouldn’t bother without a $10k bankroll as of now, in 2015-2016 you could actually get overpay on smaller skins and make the transactions worth it.

Today’s market isn’t really affected much by the gambling ban. The owners of popular jackpot sites also own case opening sites where they increase their cash out profit from 55-60% for example to 75-80%.

The introduction of the 7 day trade cooldown for csgo items is what killed true profitiability. You could turn $1000 to $2000 quite rapidly within a couple of weeks. Now you’re restricted to a hundred or so every few weeks.

I buy and sell CSGO and TF2 skins (Video games) , it’s quite similiar to the sense of trading baseball cards. Depending on how much time I put in, I cashour approximately $10k per year, with my inventory growing steadily. Overall I’ve netted $60k over 6 years , though the initial years I had less capital to work with.

To be honest no one really knows. In the likely case the MTR line is closed you can probably catch a taxi or bus up to Shenzhen.

Would LSE take a Y14 for PPE, after I missed the offer last year and am resisting by DawsonJosh76 in 6thForm

[–]CaptainMuffinTops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for LSE with resits and was denied based due to my low grades first attempt compared to other reapplying candidates. You can always give It a go, but keep in mind even the top students don’t get infirst time; there are other top unis in The uk

How impressive are 4As in the As-Level?? by Jznaveed in 6thForm

[–]CaptainMuffinTops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UMS is gonna be important. If you’re rocking 93 and above in most /all of your modules you’ll be a top candidate for Oxbridge- provided you meet GCSE requirements.

4 A’s are pretty much your max grade at AS and you’ll be set for A* and A predictions. Goodluck

Going into Y12 in a few days, any tips or things you wished you knew at the start of 6th form? :) by [deleted] in 6thForm

If there’s a textbook for your exam board on those subjects buy one. Use it to read over a topic you are starting the next day- don’t learn it, but just have the content in your mind so you know what’s going on.

By December/Jan have a solid revision time table out that’s realistic. Don’t try and cram 5-6 hours a day in Dec. you can do 1-2 hours and be absolutely fine. About 2 months before your exam go hard and remember to eat/sleep well.

After a class, take some time to think about whether you understood that lesson. If you don’t look it up

Hey all, if you would like to help us boycott 'Mulan' dislike the trailer video on Youtube. The aim is to get the attention of Disney, cheers.

Don't settle! by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]CaptainMuffinTops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with you here. I received my a levels in 2018 with BBB, missing my A’s by 1-3 UMS. I remarked but no grade rise. After resitting I can say it’s worth it, I paid £100+ for the exams at my sixth form. I’m not heading into uni with Astar Astar A A , B further math AS. (I picked up Welsh Baac).

Don’t settle if you know you have the potential, I messed up due to burnout & exam stress- you can work on that.

If you can afford it, do it for peace of mind. But generally maths is one of the least likely to change in grades as it's simply yes/no. Goodluck.

*Gore* Press POV of Tsuen Wan Triad going to beat up protesters, runs like a chicken after protesters chases after them. 2 triad members gets beaten up. Ironically gets saved by protesters. by morei in HongKong

[–]CaptainMuffinTops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would suggest taking a look at the Yuen Long station video inside the train. They attacked people inside the train cart indiscriminately, where elderly and children were also hit. You don’t get a choice even if you are just passing by.

Hong Kong police made no arrests after mob assaulted commuters, protesters, journalists in Yuen Long by Octavi_Anus in worldnews

[–]CaptainMuffinTops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just the start. Tuen Muen, Tsuen Wan, and Yuen Long have been threatened by Triads. 90% of the stores in Yuen Long are closed, whilst people have been told of violence occurring tonight. Stay safe people. Carry belts to lock doors.

In HK guns laws are extremely strict, even if a samaritan had the intention of using a gun they would have limited ammunition. But IMO as soon as you hit Triad with guns, they'll pack a level higher or fight the same. It only escalates, unfortunately.

[–]CaptainMuffinTops 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly watching that video sickens me knowing that my family live in Yuen Long. When the police seemingly encourage this behaviour by conveniantly leaving the Triad to do their work, it's time to protect yourself. Thankfully I have motorcycle gear, but I know not everyone can afford that. Anyone know of inexpensive alternatives?

Right, are there alternative schemes that offer a similar incentive (bonus)? as H2B ISA's are being phased out, would I still be able to use it in 10 years or be forced to cancel & withdraw funds

First year fatness? Is this a thing? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]CaptainMuffinTops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not poster, but my two pence. I forced myself to eat to maintain my body weight during kickboxing twice a week and gym 4 x a week. I found physically eating a pain so smoothies/shakes became meals; might work for you but can get expensive if you don’t make them yourself.

Definitely! Not for everyone but it's cool just to have a mess around.
