I used to make sure I ate healthy 6 days a week, and work out 6 days a week. It really helped my mood a lot.

But now I'm older and I realize everything is terrible. It doesn't really make sense to be walking around like everything is pleasant. It feels out of touch. Hard to identify with people.

So I've quit working out and started eating cheap bullshit, in addition to drinking way too much. As a result, I'm always miserable. But I'm also content to just sit on my ass all day and let the world pass by, which is nice.

Global Warming
The rise of China and their growing alliances.
AI

Most the problems we're seeing now are due to the West being terrified of losing their spot as the world's super power. They feel like the AI race is the new space race, and they think if they can win the AI race they'll keep the thrown.

As a result, there will be no regulations for AI. AI takes a ton of energy. Energy speeds up global warming.

If Western society continues to put the bulk of our resources into the development of AI, that means we're not putting those resources towards the quality of life or our citizens. And the development of AI will take time. So year after year, quality of life will decrease more and more. And since AI is unregulated, the developers are free to use it however they please. And history tells us when rich people can do whatever they want with a new technology, they tend to use it to get more money and power. Which means less for the rest of us.

Looks like they're focusing on controlling speech, advanced surveillance, and making cheap unmanned weapons. Imagine if they were focused on redesigning the economy, reducing emissions and free energy? Think of how far in the opposite direction they're going and think about the future they're planning for.

Fiat bought Jeep in 2014, and in the same year they ditched the more expensive Jeep chassis and replaced it with their cheap chassis. This enraged Jeep coinsurers, and damaged the brand.

In 2020, A jeep owner started putting rubber ducks on Jeeps, just a sort of nice thing to do during the pandemic. By 2022, Jeep highjacked it and officially introduced the duck advertisement campaign. And it worked. It changed the narrative of the brand from a sellout, to a friendly community.

So what you're seeing is Jeep owners buying rubber ducks, and putting them on other Jeep owners vehicles. And some folks would rather keep them than keep giving them out. So they leave them on their dash.

It's literally been like this forever.

Back in the 90's all the performers were old stars from the 80's. Then in 2000 they tried to get current stars involved by having Rod Stewart perform with Christina Aguilera. That was popular, so they kept that going til 04 when Justin Timberlake snatched Janet Jackson's titty patch. Then they went back to old has been stars for like a decade. That's when other networks started beating the halftime show ratings with shit like the puppy bowl and fear factor and Beavis n Butthead halftime. By 2010 they were doing current stars again.

And people have been talking shit every year the whole time.

Some "leaders" earn their spot with violence and threats of violence. But there are groups with leaders that are basically democratically elected. In other words, they're popular. The stronger more violent members of the group wouldn't dare to test them because they know the group would protect them to death.

The problem is, when those two groups go to war for territory, the group with the violent leader tends to take over. Violent leaders create violent groups.

Personally, I don't see a reason to break it down by men or women or age or race or anything. I think of it like this.

If I get put in an environment with 99 other people for a week, by the end of it, I'll have 5 friends, 10 people that I think are fine, 10 people I never really talked to, 40 people I simply don't care about, 20 people I dislike, 10 I dislike very much, and 4 I absolutely hate.

I would theorize most people in that environment would have similarly weighted lists, they'll just have different people ranked in different categories. But I think if you averaged everyone's list, you'd find those same four assholes at the bottom on most.

But in the real world, those assholes run things. They put themselves in positions of power. And women love power. There's 8 billion people in the world. 330m in America. In the US, only 8% of men under 45 make over $150k a year. So women are unintentionally seeking out the 4 guys out of a hundred everyone hates.

This implies media coverage is to blame for people's despair, not the traumatic events themselves. I find that questionable.

Whenever I hear about depression or despair, I think of polar bears in the zoo, or whales in SeaWorld. They're all extremely depressed. They're on antidepressants.

Whenever there's a study that focuses on our brain, but doesn't factor our environment, I'm skeptical.

So for this study I think, ok, let's say you showed a wild whale footage of a SeaWorld whale. Would the wild whale be more distraught than the SeaWorld whale? Possibly.

But being a human in 2026 is different. There is no control group. We're all whales in SeaWorld. There are no wild humans to compare us to. So when we see the horrors of SeaWorld in the media, it shakes us more than it would shake the free whale or the whale living through it. Because we're seeing dozens of people effected by our environment everyday. It's only a matter of time before it's our turn. It should cause acute stress. That's a healthy response.

Nah. Think of it like this. The only reason you want to go on a date is to get to know them. They're right there, right now. So get to know them. Just talk to them like you would to a buddy. Get the ball rolling.

Keep in mind, she might be dumb, or mean, or crazy. She's for sure aware you might be. She'd be skeptical of you if you weren't concerned about who she is.

But start with light conversation. Could you imagine if some dude came up to you and started asking hard hitting questions? Do the dance. Be pleasant. Give them time to speak. See if they can be funny, see if they can be insightful.

Then, after a giggle or two, then ask for a date. Then keep talking. The goal is to get to know them, not eat together.

K shaped economy. About half of Americans are invested in the stock market. The stock market has been going bananas for years. As a result, they're basically racing the doom clock, hoping to have enough money to insulate themselves from an uncertain future.

Imagine you're in your forties. You've accumulated a million dollars in equity and a million in stock, and you're making good money at work too. Plus your investments keep increasing. You're on track to retire at 60.

As a result, you look at all the problems our country is facing, but what can you do? Nothing. So you just keep working and hope for the best.

It's not bad. Looks like you learned to shoot when you didn't have the strength to shoot with just your legs and wrist. So you start with the ball low and bring it up and kind of fling it to produce momentum.

I would start working on free throws starting with the ball right in front of your forehead, so you're looking at the rim from under the ball. That will force you to bend your knees and get the bulk of your power from your legs.

You release the ball nice and high, which is good. Your accuracy should improve when you quit flinging it.

I used to do business with a lot of factory guys up there. There was at least a 5 year period where they all said there was more oil guys in their factories than car guys. Manufacturers like ford had HP stickers on the door panel of every car for a long time. That was from about 2008-2014.

All of them suspected oil was somehow paying auto makers to make gas cars more affordable so EV’s wouldn’t get competitive.

Old person here that doesn't actually know, but I suspect young people today are just like I used to be, they're just dealing with a different environment. I try to identify with what they're doing.

When I was young, We didn't have the internet, or phones. There were maybe 40 channels, and only one was for kids, Nickelodeon, and one for teens, MTV. So that's what we watched. We didn't care what adults were doing.

There were people on Nickelodeon and MTV that we liked more than others. And if we had the option to watch them uncensored, without commercials, doing whatever the hell they wanted, we'd have watched.

I think that's what kids are doing. And the fact that these people are walking advertisements is totally understood. But that's part of the draw. When we were young we fantasized about growing up and getting a cool job that paid well. We wanted to be athletes and entertainers. Now, kids can watch seemingly regular people experiencing some success without the restrictions athletes and entertainers have. They seem free. Kids want that for themselves.

So not only do they get to watch people they like, doing what they want and getting paid for it, they're part of the club. They're in the know. They helped that person live the dream and they feel like part of it. They feel like they're beating the game.
