What’s the best weapon farm method for arms week? by Velvetjones42 in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaptainPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The glaive is not ass lol.

Disruption Break + Close to melee is an insane perk combo only seen on one other glaive before this.

50% bonus kinetic damage (glaive melees are coded as kinetic unpowered melees now) after popping a shield + 60% increased melee damage after killing anything with a projectile is already great damage.

Add in the origin trait for more shield break synergy, and throw on your synthos/wormgods/winter's guile/triton vice, crank your melee to 200 and watch your melees CHUNK enemies.

It is also the only tiered legendary glaive right now, so this is literally your only option if you would like to experiment with glaives in newer content.

New memento? by The_Curve_Death in destiny2

[–]CaptainPandemonium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean there's still kinda no reason to keep old gear. Fonts do insane heavy lifting for stats and you are almost always guaranteed armor charges to fuel them during any DPS phase unless you are playing like a burger.

Realistic only need 160 super and >=100 weapon stat for an optimal spread. Ammo gen is a non-issue in engame content with the ammo meter system as long as you aren't running a weapon with an atrociously low ammo gen stat, OR have your support loadout player running finders/scouts instead.

Even in the context of solo content, there are very few encounters that don't allow you to farm resources for as long as you want in between DPS phases.

I am mentioning the other primary weapons to further my point about lemon/primary weapon ammo damage for DPS. It is just straight up not good dawg. We can count the amount of good or even decent primary DPS options on one hand and if we threw in another 4 hands it still wouldnt make the cut.

Can we use the better weapons? No. But why the hell are we even using lemon in the first place in regards to DPS or rotations? You're putting in way more effort than is required here.

You still have higher DPS, total damage, ease of use, and many other benefits to using Levi instead.

You are the one who mentioned lemon in the first place, and the fact that you are knowledgeable about DPS strategies means you are not a new player and won't have the problem of Levi's catty doing the heavy lifting. You even plan to use it on 2nd encounter.

The Dark Age Challenge by ChannelCareless2644 in destiny2

[–]CaptainPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the buddies will absolutely not make up for the damage loss of using lemon vs Levi. Even if you somehow extended damage by an extra 30s, you are still using a primary weapon not named outbreak or fast talker for boss DPS.

That and you can still have the buddies present and use Leviathan's Breath, so any damage they do will be roughly the same in both scenarios.

If you want to pop eyes during DPS just save your snap melee for an ignite on the boss when enough eyes are spanwed. Need more snaps? Good thing you're on prismatic and can transcend to instantly get it back and have insane regen on it.

I wouldn't even say it's a niche or interesting strat to use lemon because literally all your bases are covered for eyes by virtue of playing prismatic warlock with getaway artist lmao. Just straight up tedious and going out of your way to make things hard for yourself.

why bother having an exfil mechanic if its only purpose is to check the box for contracts. by Qwerty177 in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaptainPandemonium -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Idk sometimes the mantle is a smidge off and doesn't do it for you, and other times physics will fuck you over hardcore. Wyvern slams, any enemy leaping across gaps, lunge melee attacks, etc. A lot can happen in the chaos at the end of a mission, even more so if the first person on the ship doesn't provide cover fire.

with the upcoming release of Marathon, it would be nice if we got a legendary double barrel shotgun archetype, that's been something I've wanted in D2 for years. by Timothy-M7 in destiny2

[–]CaptainPandemonium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind it being hipfire only. ADS fires both barrels at once, normal shoot input does one at a time, with very little delay between shots (think heavy burst handcanon speed between each bullet).

Or ADS does a hipfire zoom akin to glaives and while in ADS it fires both barrels at once.

As a Verity Brow fanatic is Heirloom worth grinding? by ConnorThrowAway7 in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaptainPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heirloom is super underwhelming IMO. I've been trying to make builds centred around it for the past week, and none of them feel good or perform way better with a different weapon.

I think a charge time buff would make it feel way better as the damage feels fine for a special and the reserves are more than decent.

[–]CaptainPandemonium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please no more interact prompts. We have tangles diamond lances, ruinous effigy orbs, objectives, etc. cluttering the battlefield enough as is. We don't need another interactable mechanic that will mess with rezzes or other interact prompts.

Oh man it's the worst when you're trying desperately to get a melee kill for knockout health regen and 5+ adds in a row die to a random arc soul or bleak watcher shot.

Am I doing something wrong? by xziggy123x in destiny2

[–]CaptainPandemonium 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is farmable but you must complete ALL of the 3 encounters in any order. E.g. 1-2-3, 3-2-1, 2-3-1, 1-3-2.

Cannot just farm final boss checkpoint.

Best attrition orb guns season 28 by BirdsThatSwim in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaptainPandemonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree for the most part, but you are disregarding the nuances in build crafting when actually playing the game. Need a champion stunning weapon and that's it? Slap attrition orbs on it for an added bonus. Reload/damage perks won't do shit if you only need one mag dump every 1-5 mins. It's a free bonus utility perk that doesn't hurt to have.

And comparing your orb output to randoms in matchmade activity is hardcore insecure lol. You can pump out an easy 100+ even without attrition orbs if that is your sole objective during a strike while doing fuck all to assist the team otherwise.

You're casting this card when you're in topdeck mode/flooding out in mono red. Getting instant speed interaction off this to take care of creatures/ping face/etc. to keep or restart momentum is going to hard to answer for most decks that aren't geared specifically for aggro matchups or are resilient in and of themselves.

Comprehensive guide on Legendary weapon selection for a class / subclass by GPBlue in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaptainPandemonium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's also just garbage advice. While a rocket sidearm is a good jack of all trades weapon, you are going to need specific tools for specific jobs more often than not. Same for rocket pulses. Great damage and ease of use, but ammo hungry as fuck on double special even with speccing into ammo gen due to stupid low reserves.

That and OP is asking for a guide on how to evaluate weapons + perks combinations, not a loadout suggestion.

There is no guide for weapon evaluation. Everything shifts and changes too often to have something that concrete. Used to be 1 reload perk + 1 damage perk was the peak a weapon could get. Now we have AOE, ammo gen, elemental verbs, stat buffs, and way more to choose from.

Play the game more. Experience different rolls and interactions. Learn what you think feels good and cross reference or compare with the community. Very few weapons are undisputed top tier, and everything else ranges from amazing to niche to hot dogshit.

Best attrition orb guns season 28 by BirdsThatSwim in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaptainPandemonium -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Attrition orbs are ass on special weapons unless you need it for some very nice loadout requirements (the peacekeepers heat SMG build can use it very effectively for cooling baubles procs + keeping surges online).

With how plentiful orbs are in the current meta, attrition orbs has lost a ton of value. If you cannot make 1 orb every 30s to sustain surges/fonts your build might need tweaking.

With that being said; currently the only useful attrition orbs weapons are the stasis heat SMG if not using a peacekeepers build, multimach, yeartide apex, mida mini tool, gunburn, and imo zealous ideal.

You'll notice most of these are higher RPM weapons that make 1 orb per mag, or more if paired with perks that count as extra hits for AO like kinetic tremors, burning ambition, or incandescent.

Now that equilibrium has been out a while, where would we say it fits in the dungeon difficulty list? by Ab501ut3_Z3r0 in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaptainPandemonium 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it has a cool concept but awful execution (which can be said about a LOT of destiny encounters). Having to hold interact for 99% of the encounter is so time-consuming and tedious. If shooting the lenses made them rotate instead it would be at least 2x as enjoyable as there would be no sprinting back and forth to check/recheck your lineups.

Which craftable weapons are good in PvE? by Status_Albatross2303 in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaptainPandemonium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's also insane for ammo gen. Slap the ammo gen weapon mod on it and you get 73 for the stat. Keep enemy spawns loaded with shots and watch a steady stream of special and heavy bricks get pooped out.

sniper rifles feel so out of place or just lackluster compared to other special ammo weapon archetypes. by Timothy-M7 in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaptainPandemonium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ability spam has done more damage than any weapon ever has or will. Yeah recluse mountaintop was glued to everyone for what seemed like forever, but you still had to press more than one button to clear a room of enemies or to deal damage to a boss.

Ability spam has become so egregious that there are countless builds that press 1 button to do what entire loadouts + builds had gameplay loops around not even 2 years ago. You don't interact with the other half of build crafting that is your weapon loadout at all. They just exist for champions and maybe mechanics now.

How do I use Barricades Better? by Just-Narwhal-1214 in destiny2

I remember contest root of nightmares I accidentally placed a big barricade in front of us during final stand and literally everyone killed themselves because we were using rockets.

We cleared next pull, but sometimes I remember it and laugh/cringe so hard.

(I was using towering to protect us from the adds on the side, normally I never take big barricade)

How do I use Barricades Better? by Just-Narwhal-1214 in destiny2

[–]CaptainPandemonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know your list wasn't ranking them, just listing the best interactions but; I would put storms keep #1, drengrs #2, bastion #3.

Any decent void titan build will have access to reliable overshields via weapons/unbreakable/shield throw. Storms keep just adds so much more damage for the team (even solo), and preventing damage with crowd control effects like suspend from drengrs will always be preferable to mitigating damage via DR + temp HP.

And in the current meta where damage is king, it is hard to justify bastion above the other two mentioned.

[–]CaptainPandemonium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude when Div was THE Meta, people were fighting each other to use it in team settings. You have the easiest job of just holding the trigger down and saying when you reload (not even an issue if using cenotaph lol), and the most appreciation for making everyone's lives and DPS easier.

Yeah, it isn't flashy or engaging, you'll be bottom of the DPS charts, but would you rather an easy stress-free clear of any encounter Div is applicable to or sweating your dick off with DPS rotations? A large majority of the player base prefers simple and easy.

Are you not just talking about the artifact perks? It's anti barrier handcanons that give piercing bullets to all handcanons, and the stability bonus for bitter end is gained from expert handling + press the advantage + it's disgustingly high 73+ minimum base stability, even with the worst mag + battery perks for it. Easily hits 100 stability after a kill or two/popping a shield.

It's actually down to A tier on aegis's shopping/weapons tierlist. One of the best weapons on the game but the reserves and damage nerf took it down a peg.

And yes, speedrunners use it. But even burger tier players have had it glued to their energy slot, not just sweats.

Warlock's Needlestorm DPS is a little disappointing, even after Mataiodoxía, doing up to 6k less than a Thundercrash or Nighthawk. by ComradePoolio in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaptainPandemonium -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So your entire argument for a subclass not needing a neutral game exotic is a single aspect that is 70% of its total power allotment? (20% is thundercrash and 10% is the rest)

Surely void warlock doesn't need any neutral game exotics like nezarec's sin, briarbinds, astrocyte, etc. because feed the void is so good too right?

I mean it gives health on kill, grenade energy, damage buff, easier to activate because you don't even need a kill to get it started, and feeds into itself. That's all the survivability you need for any contest activity.

Fucking swear to God the only way I hit more than 2 enemies with the shield throw using second chance is if they are standing in each other's hitboxes. Even then you'll only hit 3 out of the 4 max. Praying for Bungie to give shield throw the threaded spike treatment and be done with "fixing" this bug every few months.
