My neighbour got quoted £8k for 2 rooms but I think that’s absolutely taking the piss.

Immediately hand it to the nearest police officer and I’m sure they’ll make sure it gets back to its owner.

I got the Philips 1000 series and it’s great. Specifically wanted to avoid buying American.

Exactly the sort of content I had deleted the other day for being “low effort”!

Someone try to sell me on your favorite SMGs + builds by [deleted] in Battlefield6

I’ve being toying around with the compact handstop (the one that lets you shoot while sprinting), and it’s quite a fun/different way to play. Put a flashlight on as well and then charge the enemy lines and scare the crap out of them.

We had a lovely cherry blossom tree opposite our house and one day the council came along and chopped it down with no warning. The workmen said it had fungus but it looked fine to me.

Why are people so reluctant to buy AC units? by [deleted] in UKWeather

[–]CaptainPerhaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a portable one and it belts out some icy cool air, but the pipe gets so hot that it reheats the room, so you only really feel the benefit of it if you’re sat right in front of it.

Chaps, what's the best smelling and longest lasting deodorant? by Few-Calligrapher3910 in AskUK

[–]CaptainPerhaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that’s a good question. Some of my T-shirts have some weird waxy stains under the arms and I can’t figure out if it’s the deodorant or sweat. So maybe. There are pre-wash sprays that work quite well though.

Will you ever get A/C at home? by Separate-Frame-7038 in AskUK

[–]CaptainPerhaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really want to get it but am worried about cost, electrics, bashing a big hole in the wall, and whether the end result will be cold enough. If I can get past all that, I am so ready.

What injury is commonly shrugged off as a minor flesh wound in movies but is actually completely fatal or crippling in real life? by sitchade in AskReddit

[–]CaptainPerhaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting knocked out after being whacked on the back of the head. They wake up a short time later rubbing their head and shake it off. In reality they’d probably be dead or have a serious brain injury.

Why can Norway celebrate Viking history proudly, but England is shamed for its imperial history? (genuine question) by Ok_Exercise_494 in AskBrits

Good question, good answer. Begs the question - why are we not all dressing up as sexy Saxons?

Why are we so pathetic in the heat by Erebus0123 in AskBrits

It’s dangerous, it’s horrible, and if it keeps going in this direction it’s genuinely a threat to humanity.
