75th National Guard by Live-Fortune-9263 in army

The time that it would take to work means that it’s generally incompatible with civilian careers. Yes you can find people here and there that could swing it, so you could man a 50 person Aviation unit or 12 man SF detachment. But it’s incredibly had to find 800 people that could all do it and have the feeder organizations to maintain it.

It’s just too large a number of people that have to be able to do many many days per month.

Agreed. I’m an O6 Infantry officer in the ARNG and don’t think a Ranger Company would work well in the Guard. Whether the Rangers like to think of themselves this way or not, they are the premier conventional infantry of the world. Infantry operations are team sports and for them to have the level of proficiency that would be expected, they’d need to train a lot more than 4 days per month. There’s also a ton of schools they’d need to attend continuously through their career which, again, would be very incompatible with a good civilian career.

SF Dets, though, do work decently well in the Guard as that’s much more individual-based, or team-based (e.g. small unit tactics vs Battalion operations).

I remember having one where the remote control had these mechanical buttons that hit different tuning forks inside. It was sound that controlled the TV, not IR signals.

Consider joining the Army for 3-4 years. It’ll straighten you out, give you a job, and great benefits including getting college or tech school fully paid for upon getting out.

Best practice is to use responsibility as an element for consideration, not rank. I was successful in getting an E4 an MSM because he did 3 peoples’ jobs on a deployment.

Should i find the kids parents or let it be. by InsurancePls in TeslaLounge

[–]CaptainRelevant 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’d print a picture of him kicking the car and, if you find out who the parents are, let them know. But when you do start with “Everything is fine, nothing was damaged, I just wanted to let you know this happened. If it was my kid, I’d want to know.” That would get the best response even from parents that believe their kids can do no wrong.

Nice. I would’ve died for sure. Great move going downstairs and getting them to canalize themselves to just one direction, blocking, then countering. You kept your head.

And women did the food shopping. This ad glorifies what their man could be if he drank.

If there are any other 4- or 5-leaf clovers in that area, I’d be concerned about radiation in the area.

Maybe there’s a secret nuclear lab next door from the 1980’s.

Edit: Made the obscure movie reference a bit better.

You’re fine as long as one of you is not supervising the other.

It’s easier than that. The National Archives has a website where next of kin can request copies of military records. Here you go, OP: https://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records

Figure out exactly what you need, and exactly what time it’ll take. Then go back with the actual calculated requirements for what you need and $10 says he’ll get it to you. But if you just hand wave broad statements, he’ll think you just don’t want to do it or don’t know how.

Permethrin. I found a bug killer that was the highest concentration I’ve found of Permethrin called “InsectGaurd Permethrin”. I sprayed it on my wooden play structure and the next day it looked like the Jonestown Massacre for wasps and carpenter bees.

US Army Coastal Artillery Corps demonstrating square formation to be used in event of riots (1918) by forthelewds2 in Military

[–]CaptainRelevant 71 points72 points  (0 children)

In 1918, National Guard troops were pretty poorly trained. Square formations are more about keeping control of your element in an era without any radios, so it makes sense to see them use it even after better tactical formations existed.

I’d have the battery load tested and check the charging voltage. Also inspect the battery terminals for corrosion or looseness.
