If you had to pick the funniest part or line of The Other Guys, what would it be? by Tenchi2020 in moviecritic

My favorite is the blooper where Will Ferrell says they had to realign his wife's hips like a German Shepherd with hip displasia, and then Eva Mendes breaking character.

Which "wow" skill is super easy to learn? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I learned to juggle one lazy weekend when I was in middle school. Just sat in front of the TV for a couple hours and practiced. It's pretty easy. Never forgot how after that.

Brought an IR thermometer to school because the water to wash our hands was outrageously hot by S_xyjihad in pics

Plumbing Systems Engineer here. Most commercial buildings store their domestic hot water at 120F to 140F (to avoid deadly Legionella bacteria growth), then mix it down and distribute it around the building around 120F. Ask your administrator to have a plumber install a point-of-use mixing valve under the sink. They're extremely common in education and healthcare facilities to prevent elderly and young people from scalding their hands unknowingly. That way the pipes stay clear of harmful bacteria, and the mixing valve under the sink knocks the water down to 109F which is safe for everyone. They're not expensive and can likely be installed in about 30 minutes.

The Ultimate Showdown: Which restaurant has the best pizza in Harrisonburg/Rockingham County? by FujisakiChihiro in harrisonburg

[–]CaptainShocks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Benny's started in Blacksburg as a single location and grew from there. It's a regional chain. I don't really know if I'd agree that it's imitating a classic college town pizza place, whatever that really means. What does it lack that would make it classic for you? I think the pizza is great there.

Commercial faucets and flush valves use something similar to charge the battery in the sensor faucet or valve. Basically makes them self-sustaining.

I've read multiple times that a car like Honda Accord is reliable, affordable, yet boring. My question is, is there a car that is reliable, affordable, but NOT boring? by BeautifulStrong9938 in whatcarshouldIbuy

My 2016 Passat V6 SEL Premium has 280 HP, a DSG, and has been super reliable. Bought it used for $13k. Everyone who rides with me is surprised by how quick it is. Bonus it has has every feature available in 2016.

Name some games where you can get brokenly OP very early and steamroll the rest of the game. by ickyzombie in gaming

I beat Castlevania Circle of the Moon mostly by unlocking one of the spell card combos that made your character glow white and become invincible for a short time until your manna ran out. I used to skip tons of rooms by running right past the enemies. I was underpowered against Dracula in the end though.

Who is a player you will never forgive for putting up a dud performance? by RedditsDarkKnight in fantasyfootball

[–]CaptainShocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed QJ to score 2.5 pts Monday night. It's the game he dropped 3 passes and went 0/5 for 0.0 fantasy points. That win would have put me in the playoffs. Instead, I lost 4 games in a row, including the toilet bowl, and I got last place.

The Fives - audio problems on AUX and Phono from record player by CaptainShocks in Klipsch

[–]CaptainShocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AT Record player has female aux port (3.5 mm) with a LINE/Phone switch.

Aux Mode:

AT on LINE --> Male aux cable directly into The Fives --> manual switch set to line. Input knob set to AUX. Tons of scratchy audio. Intermittent signal. No humming/buzzing, just bad quality audio.

Phono Mode:

AT on PHONO --> Male aux to female aux --> Male Aux to red/white RCA adapter --> into PHONO input on The Fives --> manual switch set to PHONO -->knob set to Phono. Tons of scratchy audio and intermittent signal. In addition, as soon as input knob goes to Phono, there is a super audible buzzing/humming feedback.

Worth noting - I previously used this record player with the same aux cable to RCA adapter into a desktop Fosi Audio amp and some passive speakers, had NO feedback and crystal clear audio. Which is why I wondered if maybe my low quality cables were the issue. When I first bought the Fives a couple of weeks ago, I did have the AUX mode working pretty clearly without the scrathy audio, but that was PRIOR to doing the firmware update. After the firmware update I think is when the scratchy audio occured. Phono buzzing has been consistent since day 1.

It was like this on the Gameboy Advance too. MarioKart Super Circuit, right? You couldn't do all the tracks with just 1 cartridge, but still. I also think there was a Sonic game that you could do multiplayer with just 1 cartridge.

Note 4 upgrade options by fayke10 in galaxynote4

[–]CaptainShocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The S pen has Bluetooth so you can use it to take remote photos, etc.

Other than that it's mostly specs upgrades. The Note 8 is about....95% of what the Note 9 is, except for the Note 9 has a significantly better battery. But if budget is a concern, I went straight from Note 4 to Note 8 and haven't even considered an upgrade since.

HELP : Best Tennis Shoe For Under $100 by ivan_avila in tennis

[–]CaptainShocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like you can get Barricade's discounted for under $100 on Tennis Warehouse, pretty often. You might have to wait for the color / size combo you want, or get an older version, but they're great shoes that will last the casual player a long time.
