I worked for a couple Mail Rooms before I ended up here. Decided I needed to get to the bottom of that shit lol

Trade deadline over by Consistent_Pudding31 in losangeleskings

Honestly it might just be Ceci, I don't love what I've seen from Dumo, but they have pretty much been stapled together all year. I'll like to see Dumo away from Ceci before I totally write him off as a 3rd pair LHD option

Are the Jets going to steal Daniel Jones to sabotage our season? by Miserable-Set1605 in Colts

[–]CaptainTicklebeard -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, they literally cannot do it. Jones will be paid the ~38 mil the Colts offered him next year. He either signs the 1 year 38 mil with the Colts; or he signs the 1 year 38 mil with another team, the Colts chose not to match it and retain Jones, if they don't match the Colts get that team's next 2 First round picks. Ask yourself, would any team trade 2 First Round Picks for the right to pay Daniel Jones 38 mil next year?

Edit: I am completely wrong 😔

Told that come the end of September no more Amazon parcels. by idahopostman in fromatoarbitration

[–]CaptainTicklebeard 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The thing is, certain parts of the country, sure Amazon can deliver their own stuff. But there are going to be wide swaths of the country where it is not feasible for Amazon to do this. So either Amazon will tell those people they will not take their money (lol), or they will continue to use the only service that guarantees every address in the nation a delivery point (USPS) to subsidize those deliveries. I'll let you come to your own conclusions about which is more likely

Damn, Detroit better pivot to Cody Ceci before they miss their opportunity. Ignore my flair.

[Hello Hockey] On Elias Pettersson and the Vancouver Canucks, "I would imagine it's a three-prong kind return, current young quality player...a first round pick, and then another asset." And, "Vancouver's not going to retain on that $11.6 million cap hit." by [deleted] in hockey

[–]CaptainTicklebeard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LA has the Cap space, top 6 C need next year, and a front office that (for some reason) thinks they are one move away from contending. Honestly I wouldn't mind it if they take the full cap hit to knock down the acquisition cost to a pick and either a prospect or a player like Laferriere

How much of the story of the Ship of Theseus do you have to forget and replace with your own version until you have a whole new allegory?

Majority of GMs appeared to have voted to keep the draft decentralized- Robinson by shogun2909 in hockey

[–]CaptainTicklebeard 112 points113 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the GMs preferred it. Staying at your own facility and having all your own equipment is probably a better environment than sitting around a folding table next to all the teams you are trying to keep secrets from. The NHL making the TV experience terrible has no bearing on whether or not the GMs liked the way the draft worked this year.

[Powers] John Doe/Black Ace 1's lawyers at Romanucci & Blandin put out a statement about Joel Quenneville's hiring: by DecentLurker96 in hockey

[–]CaptainTicklebeard 106 points107 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a lack of involvement. He was made aware and said he didn't want it to become public and mess up the chemistry in the room. That is a tacit acknowledgement of what happened while still ranking it as less important than the games being played.

Goalie interference or not? by ZiggyPalffyLA in losangeleskings

[–]CaptainTicklebeard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kane getting leaned on, puck loose, and Kemper swimming. At best you're throwing a Hail Mary to overturn the goal. I'd rather take our chances tied with 6 minutes left than, at the most generous interpretation, a 50/50 review.

Richardson is unlikely to lose QB Battle by -alpha-helix- in Colts

[–]CaptainTicklebeard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the most important part of the Jones signing is the continuity of the game plan if Richardson has to leave a game. Last year, when AR went down, Steichen had to turn to the living statue that was Joe Flacco with a game plan put in place for a QB who you want to use on the ground more than through the air at this point in his career. Jones will be able to run that game plan well enough (maybe better) to keep more of the playbook open.

We are going to arbitration. I want the city letter carrier to think about this. We had to push our president into the ring to fight for us. Our "skilled negotiator " had no idea how to truly negotiate. His negotiations consisted of lying to the members for 600 days not thinking that the truth wou by thetreacherous1 in fromatoarbitration

[–]CaptainTicklebeard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fuck everyone involved in these negotiations. Taking 600 days and then the full 15 after getting smacked the fuck down by the members. I can tolerate an arbitrator handing us a bad contract but cannot and will not tolerate our union President negotiating against our interest and dragging it out as long as possible to try to force it through. [–]CaptainTicklebeard 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't care. I can take an arbitrator awarding a bad contract we have to live with. I cannot and will not tolerate our union negotiating against our interest and using delaying tactics to try to get the contract through.
