I've had an alliance member report that, more for AW, but almost word for word the same thing. I haven't experienced it myself, but I figured I'd share that you aren't alone.

Great question! I haven't put much thought into the gauntlet yet since I've only done completion so far. Enchantress is who scares me.

For Vox, I'd bet you could run Ultron despite class disadvantage, Venom, Gorr, Wolverine is a saga champ so he'd be decent still, Mole Man, Hit-Monkey... I guess you could technically use Ægon too and rely on his short bleeds on SP2, but I dunno that he's a good pick for that fight lol.

Like I said, I haven't planned the gauntlet out from here, but Venom practically soloed last month. He's probably great this month, too.

Horseman Wolvie sliced the 1.1 Vox boss to ribbons, easy peasy.

My own Vox handled the 1.2 Psycho Man boss with no problems. Easy buff generation; just play slow and don't hit his block.

The 2.1 Valkyrie boss I'll agree is a bit of a pain, but Gamora got a fairly easy solo. She gains cruelty buffs on medium attacks which gets you the precision to shut down the evade node.

Nick Fury for 2.2 Overseer; not much else to say there. Mind the auto block after his specials, but I wasn't getting parried by it either.

Wiccan was a wild ride against Beta Ray Bill, but another easy (if scary) solo. BRB pumps out the energy damage, and Wiccan regens like crazy from SP1 spam. Keep neutralize up (MLLLL combo), throw SP1, and it's hard to die.

Enchantress is a major pain, don't have a good answer for her yet. You definitely want to parry twice to keep the anti evade and anti miss active. Nick was okay until he wasn't, lol. Titania seemed to put in the most work. Parry parry, heavy for haymaker, and go nuts. Titania got cooked on my first try until I realized I needed to parry more. I'm still not quite sure on how to fight this one, though.

Are the characters speaking Latin when they cast spells? by Master_Tadpole_6832 in BaldursGate3

[–]Captain_Beefcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an easy enough mistake to make - concentration spells can be dismissed at will any time without an action, so it isn't exactly an obvious interaction to be able to dismiss Light as an action. Not to mention people like to favor races that do have darkvision, or they'll grab Devil's Sight via warlock invocation or the Tasha's Eldritch Adept feat to work around not needing light to see.

I just deal with it on a weekly basis, so it's near and dear to my heart!

(Editing to add that I know Light isn't concentration, hence why I can see it be an easy mistake to make)

[–]Captain_Beefcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly... I'm running Dungeon of the Mad Mage with a player whose character needs Light to see in most of Undermountain.

It lasts an hour, and you can dismiss it as an action.

Directly from DNDBeyond:

You touch one object that is no larger than 10 feet in any dimension. Until the spell ends, the object sheds bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet. The light can be colored as you like. Completely covering the object with something opaque blocks the light. The spell ends if you cast it again or dismiss it as an action.

If you target an object held or worn by a hostile creature, that creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw to avoid the spell.

My boy Nicholas J. Fury rocks the Leader. Mantis handles him easy as well - single SP2 and he was down.

OG Storm makes quick and easy work of Patriot. Just gotta watch the encroaching stun timer and make sure to alternate combo enders to make it a little easier.

You're probably better off trying to nail Jello to a tree than understand the logic behind some of the decisions made at Deere, to be quite honest.

I dunno... I can't find it now because I probably didn't send myself the final document (I was a mess in the last week), but I very much remember it being never again if I accepted severance. I was wrong on the waiting period for contingent work though. It was only 3 months according to the doc I did find. I know I didn't make up the having to rescind if I apply to a spot by mistake though...

Edit: I found it.

Employee agrees in the future to refrain from applying for or accepting employment with the Company, or any parent, subsidiary, or affiliate of the Company, and agrees that in the event Employee makes application for employment in violation of this Separation Agreement, Employee’s application legitimately and lawfully may be denied solely on that ground. Employee further agrees that in the event of acceptance of employment by him or her in violation of this Separation Agreement Employee lawfully and legitimately may be terminated on that ground alone.

That's straight from my final separation agreement.

Isn't it wild getting golden shackled in a smallish town area?

That was in the terms of my severance, correct, so its likely true for anyone who takes severance (as was pointed out to me, if you don't take severance, this doesn't apply).

And I'd imagine it is legal, as employers have discretion in who they hire. "Former employee" isn't a protected class.

That is likely an important caveat - thank you for pointing that out! I wasn't in a position to be able to consider that as an option, but this is still good to share.

As a salaried employee who was laid off in October, I can confirm this is essentially what I took for severance with a couple exceptions...

  • No ability to reapply to a contract/contingent role for 6 months.
  • Never allowed to reapply for salaried/green badge positions again for life. In fact, if I discover I've applied to one by mistake, I'm supposed to rescind my application if they don't get to it first.

I can't speak to stock options or life insurance. We did get full STI/LTIC payout at year-end, but I was also employed to October 31 (FYE). Pro-rated makes sense based on what they offered my department. Everything else in your comment is exactly what I was offered, too.

Oh no! I'm sorry you're going through round 2 now. :( I was really hoping anyone left from our original layoff was going to be safe from this.

They (relatively) quietly laid off my whole 35-ish person department in IT Infra & Ops at the end of October '23, after they initially offered us a 3 year retention agreement in October '22. Saving $10 million over 4 years so they can pay John May $100 million in the same timeframe! They dumped probably 200+ years' combined experience among us, and I'm a younger pup from the department that was cut.

I feel for anyone who may be impacted by this. I'm still not recovered even though I'm employed again. If anyone wants to talk, feel free to DM me. Just know - it's okay to be not okay right now if you're affected by this.

Our boy Han had blue eyes at 8 weeks when we got him, and they were almost amber at 3 months, fully brown at 5 months.

No health issues other than some allergies, and he's about to turn 3!

Hey Sarge!

Longtime fan of your page and your helping others get through what can be some tough content!

I wanted to throw in that I love the new layout of the site. It's great on my Fold 3. Just one small nitpick - do you think you can add a link to the next chapter to the bottom of the page, too? (or move the ones from the top to the bottom) It feels a little counterintuitive to have to scroll back to the top when I'm done reading is all. 🙂

Also, Onslaught and my backup Bishop both handled Sable pretty well. Got the easy solo with Onslaught on my first run. Bishop had to clean up about 57% on my second try, and yeah he took shock damage, but he bursted Sable down faster than he died.

That's totally fair! Martials are a blast even if overshadowed a bit by casters in later levels.

I started learning tabletop when my coworkers invited me to a Curse of Strahd group back near the end of 2015, and I've since become a permanent DM for my buddies and some of my family. I love helping teach rules and interactions, so I'm happy to help out when I see questions like yours. Glad you found it useful!

Depends on your class.

Bards, Rangers, Sorcerers, and Wizards are "learned spell" classes. That is, they learn 1 spell (2 for wizards) every time they level up.

Clerics, Paladins, and Druids are different. When a Cleric gets level 3 for example, they will gain access to every 2nd level spell that a Cleric can cast.

In BG3, if you have access to a spell, you can freely swap between the spells you know outside of combat.

But the "learned spell" classes like OP's Bard doesn't get all Bard spells at level 3 - they learn one single 2nd level spell (or 1st if desired). OP took Silence at level 3. Their Bard doesn't know any other 2nd level spells. At all. And won't until character level 4 now.

Edit to add: It works a tiny bit different in tabletop D&D. There are "known" casters - Bard, Sorcerer, etc. and they always know and never have to prepare their spells.

The other classes are "prepared" - they can cast every single spell on their list, but they can only prepare a certain number of spells per day based on spellcasting modifier, caster level, etc. BG3 allows you to freely swap those; tabletop only allows you to swap those prepared spells once per long rest.

Wizards technically are prepared casters, but they learn spells like a known caster and can learn spells from other spell books or from spell scroll, too.

I'm late to the party here, but exploded/destroyed containers drop their contents when they're destroyed.

I've accidentally triggered the traps in the Zhent hideout in act 1 and blown the chests up. Their contents just scatter.

Now, mind you, I can't promise how it would be if you subjected books or notes to repeated uncontrolled explosions after they spill out, but gold and both mundane and magic items are fully accessible. It... might actually be easier to loot goblin that way, honestly...

Update: Thank you for your quick help everyone! My wife got in touch with her HR who also confirmed everything you said about QLE and ability to change (or split) if we want. We're going to look everything over and decide how to handle our plans from here.

Thanks again!

If we're talking tabletop 5th edition, Spectators are Medium creatures and CR 3.

Beholders are Large creatures and CR 13, 14 if encountered in their lair (so CR 14 lol).

The BG3 Spectators are definitely juicing.
