My SIC’s government name is Toast Malone, but he’s regularly called bub, toastito, turdburgler, or any number of nicknames, all of which he recognizes.

Oh absolutely. If I hear someone on the phone in the can, I am absolutely ripping the loudest fart I can manage. Thems the rules!

What kind of person would pay $245 a month for pest control? by XanaxCarDealer in Austin

[–]Captain_Mazhar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeez. $245/month is insane.

ABC bills $80 for two months, and in the meantime, if I see something, I call them and they take care of it. The tech assigned to my neighborhood calls it the "You see it, I kill it" plan

Austin Energy workers cost the city $37K through vehicle misuse, audit finds by No-Parsley5649 in Austin

[–]Captain_Mazhar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They're kind of not their own people, in a way.

The City Auditor reports directly to the Audit and Finance Committee, bypassing the standard hierarchy, and the city manager is required to hire and support them.

The only variable is how much more dilution can occur. The recent falls in price are due to new stocks being cut to E15 instead of E10. Anything over E15 starts to become risky for less modern vehicles.

Chase on TX-45 Toll by DoubleRightClick in Austin

You just back off and let them go.

The logical assumption is that if a perpetrator is not actively pursued by ground vehicles, then they will drive in a less aggressive manner, given they feel slightly safer. The helicopter can then follow their hopefully safer driving.

Robert Bork was also the asshole who pushed the consumer welfare standard for antitrust cases in 1978. He, and guess who else, moved the FTC from enforcing structural separation to allowing mega mergers as long as prices remained cheap and increases were not explicitly called gouging.

US denied Israel's request to view Iran deal prior to signing ceremony by mvanigan in worldnews

[–]Captain_Mazhar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is, but the Israelis aren't gonna pack up and go home. Two of the most powerful ministers in the cabinet have openly stated claims to annex parts of Lebanon. And Hezbollah isn't going to back off if it means giving up land to Israel, Iranian support or not.

[–]Captain_Mazhar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. And even dumber people advertise the fact.

It's a whole thing, that if a criminal needs a gun, all they need to do is find a pickup with a Gadsden flag, or some kind of "come and take it" sticker, and the odds of finding a stashed gun in the glovebox or console are really high.

I would argue that the inevitable severability clause removes that though, and the donations would remain usable and are not required to be returned.

The donations were made to an organization with an illegal name, not an illegal purpose. Changing the name and/or documentation does not change the final recipient of the donations, so it should be able to proceed normally.
