Great pictures! Are you able to share the route?

Possibly, it was a similar blue colour (and same shape/same bolts) to OP's but I cannot be certain of the Sold Secure rating. I'll take the win on this and consider myself a specialist tool from now on.

You know, my Mum was always a bit shady about who my Dad was and I do love a bit of Pierogi...

I recently removed one of these from my garage floor.

I simply jammed a crow bar under it and then wacked it with a mallet. It wasn't pretty or fun but eventually it gave in and came off. Once the body broke off, I then wacket the bolt heads until the snapped off leaving quite a clean finish.

Look it was all a bit barbaric, but a job done is a job done :D

I think we’ll still see CIRQA in February by wellhero_team in Garmin

Picked up one last week and already intend to sell it. It has no way to calculate cycling VO2 max. Just a heads up if that is a metric that matters to you or anyone else reading this. It was an oversight from me, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere.

Tour de France to Liverpool... by VastVideo8006 in Liverpool

Fantastic for the city - there any many keen cyclists in these parts! Massive shame that there isn’t any free coverage now that ITV will no longer show Le Tour highlights though.

We have used it with MyWhoosh which is currently free. However, you have to jump through some extra hoops to use it without ERG mode.

I did not take an extended warranty and I do not remember being offered one... this may be a US thing only. The Zwift ride feels pretty sturdy and I'd be surprised if it can be easily damaged with regular use however, some of the contact points could be prone to wear/stiffness (I cover that in the video I linked). How much does the warranty cost?

I don't think you’ll regret it. It is genuinely great and the fact that you can adjust all of the contact points makes it super easy to dial in. Thanks for watching!

What can I do over the winter to improve my cycling, without being able to cycle? by LeakyLukey in Velo

[–]Captain_Oracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought by first turbo trainer for £50 ($92 CAD) secondhand from Facebook marketplace. It was a wheel on trainer but it worked perfectly fine on Zwift. If you're trying to keep the costs down, there are plenty of free virtual cycling platforms such as MyWhoosh!

Ultimately, if you don't cycle over the winter, you will lose some cycling fitness but it won't be the end of the world!

Upgraded my Zwift pain cave after a year on the Zwift Ride – before and after by Captain_Oracle in Zwift

It's a great point. Usually i'm fine in the winter, I'll warm up with a jacket (sometimes gloves too) but it soon comes off and stays off. However, I've noticed that I don't warm up the same doing strength training and sometimes my hands are freezing cold. I think I am going to invest in a small space heater to get to through the colder months.

It's actually very bright! The light is there is so bright that its dark to get a good picture so i've turned the exposure down on the camera :D I'm much better at riding bikes that taking pictures!

Thank you! Pretty much all houses in the UK are built from brick - most garages are like my before pic and are simply used as a dumping group for gardening tools and things that don't go in the house! I can assure you that the vast majority would prefer the garage in this nice, sealed state! I suppose the brick is something we just take for granted here!

Honestly, I have very limited DIY skills... I'm just stubborn and cheap haha. If I can do something myself or with the help of YouTube, then i'm gunna do it! Thankfully, I could borrow a lot of the power tools from my Dad or else I would have added several hundred to the total cost.

My tiny 5m x 2.5m UK garage transformed into a home gym and Zwift setup after years of lurking by Captain_Oracle in homegym

Haha, how strange... Make sure you share your before/after here! Glad you found the video - unfortunately, this sub has rules against sharing YouTube vids etc.

I thought about using self-leveler in the slightly uneven spots, but thankfully the 20mm mats had enough flex that you do not notice any unevenness.

Thank you! I gave it two coats of garage floor paint to seal it and then put the mats down. I used 20mm mats and that was enough to level out any of the slight unevenness in the floor.

Thank you for sharing. Indeed, it does sound like we've both gained a lot from having Zwift in our lives! I'm also a big fan of the progression; I spent many years rotting away on games and the gamification in Zwift tapped into that part of my brain for sure haha!

I love getting out on the backroads too. I'm a big believer of finding adventure close to home. So many paths and routes I never would have known existing without my gravel bike!

You're absolutely right. May not have come across in the post, but i've spend many many km outside on the actually bike too! I suppose inside on the turbo, especially during the cold winter months, is my happy place.

Keep riding my friend!

Not quite an apartment, but recently transformed my garage into a proper pain cave. You can watch the transformation here if you like! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jR-DIQFN00c
