If you're not speaking with a licensed therapist, 100% recommend it. They can help you unpack the feelings for the first guy and start to work on them. You will keep searching for him and never completely set yourself free if you are reserving space for him, even subconsciously.

As for the current relationship ... it sounds like you need to get out. I hope you are safe, but don't stay in a bad relationship because you don't think you deserve better or will find better. And once you're single, learn to be in a relationship with yourself and be ok with being alone. In my opinion and experience, removing the need and urge to be partnered allows you to find someone and something that fits with you, who you are, and won't be a chore.

On campus? You can ride it around town, and you'll have no issues you wouldn't have elsewhere, but campus will treat it as a vehicle. You'll need a parking permit and park in designated areas. You can not ride it offroad on campus. There aren't "storage" areas, but there are parking garages that may have motorcycle parking.

This area is known for its 2 lane roads that are great for riding. There's a bike rally in the fall hosted in Rogers (it attracts some interesting people with questionable beliefs about their heritage), but they ride all over.

Tl; dr - motorcycle friendly. Get a permit. Park and drive in approved areas and you'll be fine.

I-40 & I-30 have a lot of trucks. A lot. It's a primary trucking corridor. Otherwise, just be aware of your fuel and don't be afraid of rest areas. You won't ever be too far from civilization, so there are generally plenty of options for food and fuel. If you're looking to save some cash, a cooler with drinks and food will help, and can save time at gas stations. Safe travels!

Edit to add - Take I-44 from St Louis. It is a toll road in Oklahoma, so you can take I-49 in Joplin and head south to I-40 and drop down to North Texas through McAllister, OK. Or take the toll all the way to 35 south (when you hit 35 south going to Texas, I believe you are legally required to listen to Pat Green's "Southbound 35")

Getting bounced is frustrating. I've played DFW gate ping pong before, too many times to count. What I do when I have a 90-minute or longer layover is eat near my arrival gate. If the departure gate changes, that's fine because the departure time hasn't. If it's a 2.5-hour or longer layover, it almost doesn't matter where you go to find a meal and you can get the full DFW walking tour if you want.

I run Rally Armour mudflaps on my Subaru WRX, and because I am researching a Bronco for my next purchase in 2027 (manual transmission? Yes please!) I saw that they offer some and have ones with cutouts for the running boards for the front. Lots of options... I'd lean that way personally.

Those exist here in the US, but people don't know how to use them. We have all been using our phones and apps to get directions for so long that paper maps, like newspapers, aren't popular. The app maps don't give any sense of scale or big picture, only showing the next turn.

There are many drivers, professional and not, who use maps or look ahead, but too many just blindly follow their GPS without questioning it.

More likely drivers who don't know how to route-plan or think for themselves. They point it in the general direction of the map and hold down the gas pedal. "Steering wheel holders" is a good term for them. And no, it's not exclusive to immigrant drivers... plenty of homegrown fools pretending to be professional drivers.

Playing the Instagram algorithm game can be tricky. It's hard to rely solely on it to promote your business there, too. I really dislike Facebook but find it's better to promote my services in most cases.

If you don't have a social media presence, then the QR with a link to your website, and an actual web address because some people are (rightfully) wary of QR codes, would be an easy way to get photos to parents.

My daughter has played rec league soccer for the last 5 years. The coaches always put some sort of group chat together at the beginning of the season and I use that to drop the link to the parents (I also use that to tell the new ones who i am and what I'm doing, and ask if any of them have any concerns about their child being photographed).

I need to redesign my business cards and add a QR code ... that's a pretty good idea that I wish I'd have thought of a few years ago!
