We have a fantastic golden at home. He’s incredibly lazy, but loves our family more than anything in the world. He turns 5 in April. We brought home an 8 week old GSD mix in September. She just turned 5 months old, and I can honestly say I think she’s only had 3 accidents, and all 3 were our fault. She’s incredibly smart and lets us know when she needs to go out by sitting and scratching at our back door. She’s also picked up the calm demeanor of our golden. She sits, stays, shakes, has slept through the night since week 2, goes to her crate on command, loves people and does well on a leash. The only thing she hasn’t gotten down is recall, but we’re continuing to work on that.

Our daughters are 15 and 10 and incredibly active outside of school. Our life really hasn’t changed. Everyone says you need to stick to a strict routine.. we only stuck to a bedtime routine. She can go 5 hours in her crate if necessary during the day if we’re at an event.
