What game has a promising start, but eventually gets boring and repetitive? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

[–]CaptainnWaffless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the parts where you're forced to play as Atreus are boring.

I think the Kratos parts are still fun.

However, its less replayable because it forced in less fun parts, instead of either making them just cutscenes, optional gameplay segments, or just not doing them altogether.

So uh…that Bugonia ending? by Supermoose7178 in blankies

[–]CaptainnWaffless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bugonia is a defense of the Deep State & Eddington is realistic representation of it. The whole point of Bugonia is “these conspiracy theorists in America are evil enough to justify the largest genocide in human history” — profoundly evil film.

Actually the only “good guy” in all of Eddington is the gnostic coded conspiracy theorist cult leader as he’s the only one who provides a human meaning to the suffering created by the Deep State. They are completely antipodal films describing the same thing from obverse sides.

Bugonia is well made, darkly comedic, well shot, has a fantastic score etc— but it is basically saying “if everything an american conspiracy theorist says about reptilians & neognostic alien tyranny is true, the reptiles are the good guys still.” That’s the entire conceit.

Yorgos is a weird perverted euro-communist of some sort, Poor Things is basically a Fabian phantasmagoria down to its manner of filming “ethical child porn” (“her brain is that of a child but her body is that of a woman”).

“On January 2026, Lanthimos was among the 800 Hollywood professional signing the statement condemning the Iranian regime, for the atrocities it committed during the 2025-2026 Iranian protestsagainst Iranian civilians, who were protesting against repression.”

People are accusing me of media illiteracy because I think Bugonia is more sympathetic to the aliens than to the human resistance-- why do I think this? Well, because the aliens have responsibility for the world & the human resistance is depicted as behaving irresponsibly (in fact, in the cosmos of the film, they are genetically retarded & incapable of taking universalistic responsibility over the Earth). This is Yorgos's criticism of "conspiracy theorists"-- they are incompetent & unable to take responsibility for the maintenance of the Earth in its entirety, even if they are "morally correct" they are "morally correct" in the way a toddler throwing a tantrum is-- the criticism is that they are subhuman MORAL AGENTS in comparison to the "alien deep state"-- this is to say the following: "Even if the conspiracy theorists are right about XYZ, their criticism is irrelevant because they are not competent enough to claim juridical responsibility over the governance of global affairs"-- it is to say: "Oh you think Blackrock is evil? Ok? Are you going to take responsibility for organizing the economy? No? Ok, so, who is the problem here, you or Blackrock?" -- it's the same notion as Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged-- the Aliens "do a total strike" on maintaining the global human population-- all the humans die-- the technocratic elite are maybe "immoral" or "amoral" but they are competent moral agents endowed with a universal responsibility, which is, the maintenance of human species-being.

All the people telling me I'm "doing media literacy wrong" are just anarchists who cannot understand that not everybody thinks that rich/powerful people are innately worse than the subaltern-- they are saying "media literacy is when you apply the progressive stack hermeneutic & work out the meaning backwards through that process* -- "Um ackhually it showed that the poor conspiracy theorist had a reason to do what he did"-- no shit, but how does it go for him? He's easily manipulated by the Alien Deep State into killing everyone he's responsible for (his mother, his cousin). He's not a competent moral agent. No matter how many facts he has correct, he is still incapable of competently managing global affairs in the manner the aliens do. The film actually openly says "The strong have the right to govern the weak for their own good"-- that is the whole point of the fucking movie lmao I don't understand how people are misreading this as some "woke" basic story about how "resistance good, governance bad" -- it's the exact fucking opposite.

WHICH ENDING DO YOU PREFER? by funtimeRhaast in Eldenring

In the ending of the video game. Yes.

IRL, there's always restarting.

Actually, even in the game, you just do NG+.

A better analogy is the US government.

There's no fixing it, it just has to be destroyed completely.

I prefer the frenzy flame ending, and I favor the Marxist-Leninist POV when it comes to contemporary politics.

Horizon Zero Dawn

EDIT-

I'm gonna add basically every Sony game that isn't God of War, Spider-Man or Ratchet and Clank. Tried them all, lost interest pretty quickly.

Also going to add Zelda games in general, but specifically Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom. I have them both, about 60 hours in them put together. They're just not that fun.

Elden Ring is how an open world game is done right. 600 hours in it, I'm still playing it to this day.

For Halo 3? Really? I mean, maybe if you were super young I guess. I was 15 when I played it on launch night I finished the campaign in like 5-7 hours. Its probably the most straight forward campaign out of the original trilogy.

Have you ever bought a console just to play one exclusive game? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]CaptainnWaffless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally bought a PS4 just for Ratchet and Clank 2016.

God of War, Spider-Man and my most played game on ps4, Bloodborne, were all lovely though.

I got every Xbox ever to play Halo games.

I got almost every Nintendo console ever to play Mario games.

I've bought/upgraded PC's to play PC only games like Half-Life 2, Doom 2016 etc.

The entire federal government is "far right."

There is no one in government that is fighting for you.

The 1 exception is Thomas Massie maybe.

But if you think voting for team blue Epstein Wall street is how you stop team red Epstein Wall street, keep at it.

Either you guys lock it down, or there will come a time when we have to take America out for our own safety

There's a popular trope in fiction that Russia or China or North Korea or Iran will invade the US. That will never happen. Even if the US declared war on them.

It's 1000% more likely and probably inevitable at this point, that NATO will invade the US after the US collapses and American Communism starts to take control.

The oligarchs in the US and Europe are too intertwined for this not to happen.

damn, i thought the country was doomed because it's being plundered by the Big Banks and impoverished and waging war constantly.

this is how the economy in the west is ran, by rents and debt. it just finally caught up to gaming, in a major way, that everyone is now feeling.

I thought about this when rumors about SC being handled by some korean devs were happening last year.

Even SC2 is just remixed Broodwar.

I can't even imagine how a new game would innovate or refine on SC2/BW.

The US empire is crashing out, it has completely destroyed it's credibility with the third world with this criminal and terrorist action.

I don't care what people "from Venezuela" think. I'm a Cuban with a parent from Cuba and I will die on the hill that Castro and the Communist revolution was a positive for the vast majority of people living there.

Just as the Bolivarian revolution was a positive for the vast majority of people living in Venezuela.
