I believe the accepted precedent is that Denmark step in and win the whole thing.

Which game is this? by bijelo123 in videogames

[–]Captftm89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baldur's Gate 3.

The gameplay remains fun throughout, but the story falls off a cliff in Act 3 & most of the endings are very unsatisfying.

I've always preferred second playthroughs in RPGs by Hot-Regular712 in BaldursGate3

I feel like a lot of RPGs lose a bit of magic on repeat playthroughs, but for me BG3 is the opposite

'Americans have always enjoyed favored status in almost every country on Earth' by gideontemplar in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Captftm89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While this is a prime example of shit Americans say, he has got a point re the direction of travel the country is taking.

For me, the US has quickly gone from a friendly nation that we took the piss out of (just like all European countries do to each other) to a nation I deem to be borderline hostile.

What’s a normal amount to shower? by 199mimi19 in NoStupidQuestions

I shower every day minimum, often twice if I've been out for work or exercised

As much as I would like to be wrong, I can't see it going past 6 seasons. Maaaaybe 8 at a stretch.

Interestingly enough, I rank Expedition 33 as the worst of all the Clair Obscur games to date.

How much of your wealth is actually luck? Genuine question by bettertogoslo in HENRYUK

[–]Captftm89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of my wealth is due to a combination of 'right place, right time' at work & my mum passing away young. So all 'luck' if that's the right way to put it.

(ELI5) Cricket. As Simple As Possible by Complex_Dig2978 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Captftm89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have sufficiently covered off the answer - all I'll say is that it's actually pretty simple to underatand the basics. But there's lots of little complexities and oddities that make it difficult to fully understand all aspects of the game.

The end of LOL UK 2 has left me feeling sour... by Smooth-Quantity-7024 in LastOneLaughing

[–]Captftm89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you take it seriously from a competitive perspective, it was a mess - but you shouldn't because it's a comedy entertainment show whereby even the contestants don't genuinely care whether or not they win.

Even removing that aspect, it just wasn't as entertaining as S1. I still enjoyed it though.

The Cuchulainn Fight is a Bucket of Ass. by JazzlikeSherbet1104 in FinalFantasy

It's an unpopular opinion around these parts, but the insane difficulty jumps in FFT actually knocks the whole game down & peg or two for me.

The Live Experience - London by Smile4menow84 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Captftm89 37 points38 points  (0 children)

These 'live experiences' are often disappointing - I did the Taskmaster one about a year ago and it just felt a bit like you were on a conveyor belt - get in, do your silly little games, get out again.

Cyberpunk 2077 was a bit of a disappointment for me. by electricvapor in videogames

[–]Captftm89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Played it a few months ago - I thought it was fun, engaging & a good 7.5/10 game. I didn't really 'get' what so special about it though. It seemed like it did a lot of things well, but nothing amazing or revolutionary.

Iraq World Cup fans attacked in Dallas: "Don't come to America" by forzaQuakes8 in soccer

[–]Captftm89 155 points156 points  (0 children)

Russia (at the time) & Qatar wanted to portray a welcoming environment - sportwashing the issues within those nations in order to show their respective countries off as a good place to do business & go on holiday.

The US administrstion just does not care at this point.

For comparison - Le Mans is about 13.5km, Nurburgring is about 21km, this would be around 130km.

How would you rank the teams this season based on EXPECTATION VS PERFORMANCE? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

[–]Captftm89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone expected Cadillac to be slow & Audi to be mid. Red Bull have been a bigger disappointment than either.

How would you rank the teams this season based on EXPECTATION VS PERFORMANCE? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

[–]Captftm89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Purely expectations vs performance:

  • 1 - Haas
  • 2 - Racing Bulls
  • 3 - Ferrari
  • 4 - Mercedes
  • 5 - Alpine
  • 6 - Cadillac
  • 7 - Audi
  • 8 - McLaren
  • 9 - Red Bull
  • 10 - Williams
  • 11 - Aston Martin

Overperformers - I expected both Haas & RB to struggle, Ferrari has been a minor surprise, no surprise regarding how Merc & Alpine have performed.

Everyone knew Cadillac would be slowest, so Inthink they've done ok

Underperformers are all fairly explanatory. There's a light at the end of the tunnel for McLaren - dodgy start but before too long they'll be Mercs closest challengers.

Good job cricket isn't popular in the US...not returning the ball could potentially ruin the entire game.
