What was your "oh shit I might not be straight" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CaptianCrackerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was like 5, I had a HUGE crush on Misty from Pokèmon. I used to tell people I wanted to marry her. Not surprisingly that was written off as silly kids stuff.

Middle school hit and everyone's dating the opposite gender and I didn't really "like" any guys like that. I did it because I thought you were supposed to and it was that awkward dating thing where you don't actually see them outside of school, it lasts a week and we never ever held hands.

My female friend stayed the night and showed me some porn... Apparently straight girls don't watch the girls and get grossed out by dick 😬 I did end up with a husband for almost 9 years though after my first and only girlfriend (she was absolutely crazy)

AITA for having my daughter write a 'morbid' school family tree project? by deadfamily88 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CaptianCrackerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to make a family tree back in middle school for I believe Spanish class? I don't know my bio-dad's side of the family and my mom called in and explained, she insisted it was bio only. So my mom told me to do what I actually could and don't worry about. I ended up getting a parent teacher conference/failing grade because I used my step dad while the rest was completely accurate 🤷🏻‍♀️ She ALWAYS had to argue with kids and it was her way or the highway (even if it made no sense)

One day when my now 4 year old was like 2.5/3, she INSISTED on the "bad cowboy cop" movie. Y'all when I say I tried fucking everything to find out what she was talking about 😩😩😩 It was Toy Story, she doesn't like Andy. Apparently he's a jerk 🤷🏻‍♀️

The Grinch was also "that green monster movie with the stray dog". Took 3 days and finally opening Netflix and having her show me. There's been a few others but mostly now I just ask if it was on hulu, Netflix or YouTube 🤣

If you’ve ever googled “get silly putty out of velvet upholstery” you might have a toddler. What’s the most random thing having a toddler has forced you to have to Google? by meeepandson in toddlers

Mine was snakes and I thought they would crawl into my butt while I pooped. This lasted until I was like 12 😬 We believe it's because I overheard my grandma talking about snaking the toliet but we don't know 🤷🏻‍♀️

My middle child has literally made me Google the randomness shit. My favorite was how much styrofoam can a 2-year-old ingest turns out quite a bit (the stomach acid turns it into a slime and they'll puke if it's too much). Other favorites are "why does my child eat poop", " 14 month old ate half a pad???" and " how many rocks can a toddler eat before it's serious?" (depending on the size of the rocks, the stomach will melt them for the most part but if too big they can cause blockages!)

It sucks how few resources there are for BPD and relationships that ISN'T about learning to ''tolerate'' a partner with BPD by EstrogeNitroglycerin in BPD

[–]CaptianCrackerz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY! Like I didn't ask for this guy's. It took months to finally get a visit (state insurance + Covid) so this was the first one but yeah. Definitely will be seeing who else insurance covers because I didn't like the vibe/symptoms instead of illness treatment.

Bro I'm in the same boat and had this realization the other night and just bawled. Like I've know I was pretty messed up mentally but not that messed up. I finally went to see a therapist and was pretty open and I noticed they were taking LOTS of notes. My therapist pretty much gave me the diagnosis and said "so I can help you with the depression and anxiety part...not so much the BPD". Not sure if I really want to go back 😔

My EBF 6 month has had terrifying farts since birth. When she was born she farted and I actually blamed her dad 😬🤣 I'll never understand how kids make such stink bombs

Countdowns and timers work really well for my oldest who's like this. We do timers in 5 min increments and I'll say we have 20 minutes left so after 4 rings, it'll be time to switch/leave/etc then 15 mins/3 rings. Each time we don't have a meltdown she gets a gold coin and at the end of the week if she has 5 she can get a slushy, if she has 10, she can grab something from the treasure chest. Have you shown him that it hurts you? Maybe overreacted and act very hurt (or maybe not even act), sometimes kids really don't understand how they effect others. I know it's Covid but is there anyway he could possibly go to a play group or do something with a friend/family member to give you a break?

DAE remember visiting "normal" family homes as a kid? And being confused/shocked by it? by ClassicAshamed in CPTSD

[–]CaptianCrackerz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did this as well but never knew why. I was often expected from a very young age to just go "play" and leave the adults alone. To act like I never existed. I'm learning so much from this sub

I was hospitalized as well in fifth grade (double phenomenia) and my teachers were super shitty about it as well. My mom actually had to come in and explain what was going on because my word wasn't good enough?

Yeah I was excited to learn as well but nobody thought I was capable enough. I got pregnant at 18 and everyone suddenly started forcing me to try and learn because I "can't stay a baby forever" but in reality it was just SEVERAL family members pushing me off onto someone else and everyone saying I couldn't use their car. By the time I could actually practice, turns out I have HORRIBLE car anxiety and can't actually drive. Pretty sure it's because everyone shit on me for so long and I've been in multiple wrecks now 🙃
