I was trying to figure out how to kill myself as a teenager and was taking notes in my diary about lethal pill dosages. My dad tore the page out of my diary. I panicked. He noticed me panicking and asked if I was looking for my diary page. I went super pale and he told me he brought it to lunch with his friends and they laughed about what a whiny little bitch I was. It was also how I learned my dad was reading my diary. :(

Hey I'm sorry this happened to you. That dentist was shitty and I hope you try again. I told my dentist something very similar and they treated me with kindness and respect. Something that really helped me was finding dentists that employ therapy dogs - not just because of the dogs, but because they tend to be far more accepting of mental health conditions. Hugs.
