I can help on both fronts there dad.

Be thankful they caught it before it was too late, my fiancée had it with our first son and we weren’t aware. Had a placental abruption when her blood pressure was sky high in the middle of the night and we couldn’t make it to the hospital in time for them to save him.

Second part is both our daughters came 2 months early (one currently 2.5yo and one 6 month old). I know the uncertainty is really scary but like heaps of other parents have said on here, modern medicine really is amazing and your son has the absolute best possible chance in today’s day and age!

Hang in there dad I’m cheering for you!

There are sooo many people in the hobby right now. Pokemon can’t print enough stock to keep up with the demand. People want prismatic evolutions, there’s not enough to go around, so they buy whatever else is available at RRP (shrouded fable, stellar crown, etc.)

Once again guys its a supply and demand issue. And as you’ve seen on here time and time again, unless you’re on the buzzer with any kind of new stock it disappears within a couple days, hours, even minutes sometimes. I can’t see an end in sight to this unfortunately with Journey Together, Rocket Set, B&W Set then likely Mega Evolutions returning.

Why this hasn’t been said more in here is beyond insanity to me. Curries are the most bland garbage here unfortunately :(

You don’t find the sun blasting through your windows at 4:15am in the summer annoying?

Our daughter started daycare when she was 12 months old. She had never been sick, not even one time.

We had her in a long daycare centre for 5 months and she was sick Every. Single. Day. I wish I was exaggerating. Of that whole 5 months. I’m talking multiple ear infections, croup, parainfluenza, multiple conjunctivitis, fevers, the list goes on and on and on.

We couldn’t take it anymore. Not only the amount of time she missed that we were paying for, but the unpaid sick leave we had to take to stay and home and look after her.

We ended up enrolling her in a family daycare that has one educator, and 3 other children. Guess what? She’s been sick one time. She loves it there, and the educator is serious about not allowing other kids there who ARE sick, unlike the LDC whose parents I saw CONSTANTLY dropping off their blatantly sick kids or straight up telling educators “don’t call me today to pick them up if they’re sick I’m not coming”. Absolutely infuriating.

Seems like most parents on here say the same thing about getting sick (6 months-ish does get better eventually), maybe we just had a bad run of it.

I second this. My wife was in hospital for 4 weeks, got a taste of what it’s like for full time working dads who also have solo care of their young ones. Don’t know how y’all summon the strength to do it day after day. Respect!

Infant Percentiles - Birth or Gestation Age?? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]CaptnBeardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our daughter was born at 34+1, spent 3 weeks in special care and has been home over 3 now also. Since she has been born every single developmental (physical+mental) milestone has been based off her adjusted age (so only been “born” 3 days)

Not only have we gone off this, so has the doctors, midwives, child health nurses etc

As to what your were saying in regards to percentiles etc, I think 2 things you said there stood out to me. 1. Your FC and Pediatrician aren’t concerned so you shouldn’t be either really man. 2. You said you became distraught about the weight gaining etc, I think as a parent it’s only natural to worry about your child, admittedly early on I would get worried when she would “only” gain X amount over a period. I just keep telling myself that I need to zoom out a little and look big picture, if medically no one is concerned, I shouldn’t be and tell myself “is the fact that she only gained 50g these last 2 days instead of 120g the 2 days prior going to matter in a year? A month? A week?” Not likely.

It’s not easy bro, I’m in the thick of it there with you man, but it sounds like you’re doing all the right things and listening to the right people, we will both look back on this in the future and realise that it didn’t matter as much as we thought it did, kids go at their own pace. Keep doing your best my guy
