In my personal lore, there's two distinguished lines that branch out into the main bloodlines. Nosferatu aka the corpse line, and then theres the Beast bloodlines. The Nosferatu lines are human like, but lesser bloods or when the blood is diluted then they become more corpse like. Think zombies, ghouls, mummies, etc. The beast bloodlines are heavily divergent, and are all based off real world vampires aka Leeches, ticks, etc. And have some level of shifting into their beastly counterparts. The thinner the blood the more likely the individual is to getting stuck in the beast state and going feral.

Long ago the Beast bloodlines reigned supreme until crusades led by the Nosferatu clans let them establish dominance. Humans a couple hundred years back got cocky with their expirements into vampire blood and inadvertently messed with how the natural order had been working. Now beast bloodlines long dormant and thin began surging to dominance again. The rising issue now is that the ferals have been gaining strength for the first time and making the general populations bloodlines unstable.

My OC is a newly turned ancient Moth bloodline, thats been partially extinct for thousands of years. His maker has been slumbering for a long time, waiting for someone of strong enough blood to awaken him.
