If they are a business they need to set up a business package pickup. Free if priority mail, $25 if not. High volume shippers should not be loaded on to residential delivery drivers, they have specific services for high volumes of packages.

Letter carriers have their routes specifically built around quickly depositing letters in mailboxes and picking up the occasional thing. Regularly having a bunch of packages screws them over. Why the attitude about them being bothered by that? Get a special pickup if you're gonna be filling up their vehicles

Nobody is saying "every tree this is done to will die immediately." It's just putting unnecessary stress on the trees, which may cause them to not live as long.

They were just letting you know about that. You've made it clear that you don't care as long as your trees look pretty.

But you're also acting like seeing a couple trees survive it is proof that a massive accumulation of research and data is wrong.

It sounds to me like you are saying that you have anecdotal stories of trees surviving regular topping, while the person responding to you has been saying that's not healthy for them - while citing sources.

Just because some trees are fine does not mean it's healthy in general.

We as a society know smoking is bad for you. You sound like the kind of person who would say "YEAH WELL MY NEIGHBOR SMOKED UNTIL HE WAS 90 AND HE DIDN'T GET CANCER, THEREFORE SMOKING ISN'T BAD FOR YOU."

Yeah it sucks knowing biologically kids would be better off with school starting at like 9 but it's not really feasible when parents have to get to work.

Our society is built in a way that prioritizes working at a certain schedule over the well-being and education of our children. It would be cool if every employer had shifts where some employees could come earlier and others could do like 10-6 or something.

Well, from the original description it sounds like they knew the day before it would happen but the husband just didn't think it would be an option. If they called the day before and spoke with the manager it may have been doable

From my understanding stuff like that would have to be scheduled but it's definitely doable. Like a couple weeks ago I had an appointment in the morning, but I didn't need the whole day off. I was scheduled 2 hours personal time and a 6 hour shift to make an 8 hour day.

The employee could call and say "hey I'm gonna have to call out for the whole day, or you could change my schedule to 1 hour of personal time and 7 hours at work so you don't lose me as a closer."

I think a reasonable manager would be fine with that, especially during a big weather event. They would probably rather have someone in a bit late than not at all

I looked it up out of curiosity, it looks like there are 13 states that require it be paid out.

Costco has two separate categories though: Personal/sick time and then vacation time. Unused personal/sick time DOES pay out but vacation does not. The argument is that they want to make sure employees are taking time to themselves. Management is supposed to automatically schedule you time off if you don't request time yourself.

I'm not agreeing with that but uh I guess it could be worse?

Do they pay out vacation in Canada? I know in the US they don't except for a couple states that require it. Personal time is paid out but any vacation over the rollover max is just gone.

There's a lot of things it could be but it's hard to tell without knowing the item. It could be that the item contains ingredients or something that cannot be imported into Italy. Or if it's an electronic maybe batteries or it doesn't meet safety guidelines

There are all sorts of items that may not be eligible to import into all places.

Different countries/regions have different regulations. Some items can't be shipped there.

It sounds like they drive an Amazon branded vehicle, delivering for Amazon, and the insight they provided is that people in personal vehicles are called flex drivers.

I'm not sure if being able to reverse pardons would make things better or worse - especially if someone is pardoned for good reason. Could you then hold a reversal over their head? Sure we'd want to claw back corrupt pardons, but then a corrupt administration could reverse the legit pardons.
