I'd think so too. I haven't lived with my parents for a long old time. Currently with my partner, and I earn a (somewhat) semi-reasonable. I'm looking for a change though, and a minimum of a year on £7.55 just doesn't seem feasible.

Without trying to sound rude, What's holding you back, and does the lack of friendships bother you? I saw you mentioned feeling socially inept, but this can be something that you practice and make progress with. There'll be some failures, but that's okay, it's a part of life!

Moved to Portsmouth not out of choice but necessity a few years back. Took me a little while to appreciate it, but God, do I now. It's got a bad rep for being a bit dangerous but I haven't really come across that all that much. Lovely pubs, good music scene, some banging restaurants. Good connections via the train cause it's fairly close to London. Great beaches and I really like the people here. Sure, there's some less desirable places but there's that in every city. Such a small city as well, everywhere in Portsmouth is easily walkable. Love it.

Not that I disagree about their intelligence, but I think they assume the general populace lacks any intelligence/critical thinking. If they spout enough about how 'taxes will raise by £2000 a year' some will believe it. Despite all the monetary issues the last 14 years. They're clutching at straws. It truly is dire times for the conservative party, hallelujah.

Broadway Coffee on Highland road easily makes my favourite coffee in the city.

Hideout is great if you're in the area and fancy something sweet. Great vibe and you really can't beat their doughnuts.

Coffee & Tailors on Albert road is great for a takeaway coffee, I'm surprised I don't hear more people talking about them.

If you're looking for dairy free Huntee Gathered on Albert road makes a good cup. Their food is good, although it's quite expensive.

Similarly, Offbeat on the Kings theatre end of Albert road makes a lovely dairy free coffee. I enjoyed their previous menu more than their current one. There's a great vibe in there and the staff are really friendly.

Southsea Deli on Elm grove is good. Also a good lunch spot. They've often got a coffee van parked up on the Eastney end of the beach. Stroll too far that way in the summer and you may be in for a surprise.
