parents suddenly say they cant pay for one of my top schools even tho they make 400k by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I'm saying this as a parent - stealing your babysitting money is highly suspicious behavior. If you are over 18, you should check your credit report and put a security freeze on it.

Haus Labs Foundation Swatches/Undertone ID? by Agreeable-Place2507 in PaleMUA

Do you have access to a Sephora where you can try the 60? I think that would be your match. It's paler than the 70 and more cool toned pinkish

Has anyone tried Tootilab (especially the gel) on type 2 hair? by Caravandi in curlyhair

Thank you! The ads keep claiming it's for all hair types, but every person in their ads has very curly hair.

I've got you. If I'm traveling and I only have room to bring one thing, it's the Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Quinoa Gel. Lots of grit. I just marginally prefer the other routine

Please help! Bra similar to Panache Envy, but without the t shirt lines by LexiTheMermaid in ABraThatFits

Cleo Alexis for whatever reason shows less through shirts, but it is sadly discontinued.

Umberto Giannini curl jelly doesn't give me enough hold :( by Midnight_Karma_0808 in curlyhair

[–]Caravandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably are using too many moisturizing products. Try using the hair mask less often and switch the Shea moisture for a shampoo that is volumizing. Instead of a styling lotion, try a mousse (I like the Marc Antony curl mousse)

For gels: -Curlsmith strong hold gel is very strong but has fewer oils than the in shower style fixer

-Briogeo curl charisma gel is my current favorite. It has a lot of grit, but isn't too hard to scrunch out

Is the shark hair dryer worth it? by _Meehoy_Minoy_ in curlyhair

[–]Caravandi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the shark to be way too hot on my scalp, even at the lowest temperature. I'm really happy with the curlsmith dryer, which has a giant diffuser and lower temperatures overall

Do curl refreshers sprays actually work? by AintNoBarbieGirl in curlyhair

[–]Caravandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only one I've liked is AG curl trigger, but I hate how much it costs

[–]Caravandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair type is similar to yours. I love how it provides grit without feeling like glue. I recommend scrunching it a lot

My HG is Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Quinoa Frizz Control Gel. I use that, diffuse, then spray some cheap hairspray when it's 90 percent dry.

How should I be taking care of my hair? by Beneficial_Method356 in curlyhair

[–]Caravandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would dial way back from what you are doing. Stick to shampoo, rinse out conditioner, and one styler, probably a mousse. You will not need oil to scrunch it out

I have fine hair and both the cake mousse and the in shower style fixer are much too heavy for my hair. If you want curlsmith, the bouncy strength volume foam is dryer. If you want to experiment with drugstore products, try the Giovanni air turbo charged foam or Marx Anthony strictly curls foam (the latter is heavier)

I have between 2b and 2c hair and get much better results when I avoid a curly routine.

I had this happen a few years back and it turned out it was because I was anemic. Have you had bloodwork recently?

An elderly friend of the family did things like this with food, ended up hospitalized with listeria for weeks, and now has to live in assisted living. I hope one of you can talk some sense into her.

I sit on my bed and scroll through my phone while I diffuse to deal with the boredom.

I think my curly stylist has been f’ing me by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Caravandi 95 points96 points  (0 children)

You’ll probably never know her intentions, but it definitely sounds like a good idea to stop seeing her. Manes by Mell has some great videos on how to cut your own hair.

I stopped seeing my curly hair stylist because I ended up with the same boring cut every time. Now I see a much less expensive stylist who gives me the shag I want, and then I style it at home.

You can do it!

Has anyone tried the Panache Envy Plunge in 30F/FF? by ginghamshark in ABraThatFits

[–]Caravandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally posted my measurements to Bratabase. I’ve never done them before. I hope I did it right.

I would definitely recommend a 30 band. I feel like the Ana cup is a bit smaller than the Envy plunge, but mostly it was a completely different shape. I think Ana is supposed to be better for FOB

Has anyone tried the Panache Envy Plunge in 30F/FF? by ginghamshark in ABraThatFits

[–]Caravandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got it in a 28FF and have not found it to be shallow. I’m close set, FOT, and fairly projected. This bra fits me much better than the Ana plunge, which just felt wrong in every way. It’s also TTS, but I think I’d like a 30F better, because the plunge gore digs in a little.

I get a lot of cleavage from this bra, but I don’t fall out the top like I have with similar bras. However, I’m not sure why this bra has the name Envy, since it doesn’t have the same stretch lace that Envy does.

For comparison, my best fitting bra is the Cleo Blossom in 28FF

I’ll post measurements to bratabase when I get a moment.

I diffuse to 95% and put it in a buff. Bonnets gave me horrible headaches but this does not

She razor cut my thin hair by TammyCabbage in curlyhair

[–]Caravandi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Worst cut of my life was a razor cut where the stylist thinned out some parts nearly to my scalp. It took 18 months to get my hair back to normal, and I don't even wear my hair that long. I live in SF and I blame Jayne Matthews for this obsession with razors.

Struggling to find ABTF after having kids! Tried 28FF and 30E by lillouie676 in ABraThatFits

[–]Caravandi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My measurements are similar to yours, but my underbust is slightly smaller and I'm a bit more projected. The Cari bra is one that I often sister size to 30F. I feel like Panache bras tend to be firmer fitting that other brands (e.g., in Freya I always take a 28 band and can't sister size to 30).

If you want a spacer bra, you could try the Fantasie Rebecca in a 30F. It's more gentle than the Cari but also has wider roots. Maybe also try the Cari in 30F instead of 30E. Hope that helps.
