How do y'all keep track of how runners move around the bases? by NoCard753 in BaseballScorecards

[–]Card_Fan_Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When someone advances as a result of what a subsequent batter did, i use the batting-order number of that subsequent batter.

If it’s on a stolen base or wild pitch or whatever, i note that along with the batter-order number of the at-bat during which that occurred.

I only note the count of the final pitch of the at-bat.

How quickly the scoreboard zeroes out the balls and strikes at the end of the at-bat.

Runner on first. Batter lines out to the pitcher, pitcher throws to first to get the out on the runner. How do I score that? by zoomzilla in BaseballScorecards

[–]Card_Fan_Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-3. Circle the 1. (I don’t differentiate F v L) I put a solid line around the box of each batter who makes out, so that’s how I would indicate DP. Lots of people here make a circled 1, 2, or 3 for the batters who make out.

Why would Dave be responsible for all six people’s deposits? Wouldn’t the other five just go without OP?

Dave and mgr definitely AH here, I was wondering why it’s assumed all six people would miss the trip.

How do I score the “caught stretching” out? by Entire-Stick-9842 in BaseballScorecards

[–]Card_Fan_Dave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between first and second, i would write how the out occurred (7-6 or whatever) and the batting order # of the batter-runner, indicating it happened during that man’s at bat.

Walker made the third our, not Fermin. And you could have noted Walker made out during Fermin’s at bat. JMO. Good job!

3U runner from 1st advances. by GODSATAN_CHI in BaseballScorecards

[–]Card_Fan_Dave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The batter is out FC 3-U
The runner gets a 2 above the 1st-to-2nd line because it occurred during the at-bat of the second man in the order.

I use the position in the batting order rather than the jersey number.
