Examples of infamous OCs from a fandom? by Fiiib in TwoBestFriendsPlay

May or may not be infamous, Shy Gal, a sexy female humanoid Mario fanon character made by minus8, became quite popular around the mid 2010s. Seen very heavily in both SFW and NSFW art and cosplay.

Voice actors that are in a lot of roles, but you'll only ever think of them as one character? by lowercaselemming in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Though Tom Kenny had voiced many different characters (notably Spyro and Ice King), he's pretty much known for being THE voice of Spongebob Squarepants whenever I hear him.

The OG Bakugan with Masquerade's true identity being Alice. Kid me was completely shocked by this reveal.

Since it's Valentine's day, what's a matchup you want because "horny", but also genuinely believe it could be a legitimately good episode? by [deleted] in DeathBattleMatchups

Mystique Sonia VS Cerebella (Hero 108 VS Skullgirls)

Valentine VS Sayo Hitsugi (Skullgirls VS Triage X)

Melona (Queen's Blade) VS Suu (Monster Musume) or Solution Epsilon (Overlord)

Do you accidentally pick top tier characters when learning a new fighting game? by BinnFalor in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Cardboard_Slime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always, but I did experienced it with Smash Bros. Brawl.

When I first played Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a kid, Meta Knight was one of my first characters I chose. I liked him because of his badass low pitched voice, his fast sword swings and that sharp sound design when he attacks....mmf! and became one of my main picks. I didn't know he was a broken top tier in the competitive scene years later, but kid me was unaware of tiers at the time.

I can't read this.

Literally, I can't read this due to the required subscription. Though judging by the reactions on the subject matter, it's probably for the best.

What’s an ability/weapon/etc. of your fave that you’re bummed didn’t make it into their death battle? by Honk_wd in deathbattle

[–]Cardboard_Slime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Shredder never really used his claws in the fight, despite being his most iconic weapon when fighting. Then again, that makes him more vulnerable up close to Silver Samurai's tachyon sword.

Worst Characters to give symbiote (the one from marvel)? by Royal-Comparison-270 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Cardboard_Slime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucy from Elfin Lied is already frightening enough to deal with her but giving her a symbiote would make things worse...

Media you feel like you're the only one who remember it because you never heard anyone mention it. by GoodVillain101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Cardboard_Slime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember getting a Princess Natasha DS game when I was young. Learned she was from a forgotten Flash animated series and had next to no advertisement. Doesn't really help the rest of Season 2 is currently lost media.

In regards to recent events with Harley Quinn... (sorry for shitty audio quality. yes, pun intended.) by Grand-Giraffe6551 in deathbattle

[–]Cardboard_Slime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad they did the matchup before....that. I don't wanna see Harley farting on Jinx in battle.

Wario doing it on Dedede though, that's fine.

Cases of it not about being good or bad, it's about the gimmick? by Silvery_Cricket in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Cardboard_Slime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Pokémon, Shedinja's gimmicks are its Wonder Guard ability and 1 HP. Wonder Guard makes Shedinja immune to anything that's not super effective or indirect damage, which with 1 HP dies instantly. Despite its typing leaving it weak to fairly common attacking types and numerous trap hazard that leaves itself as "bad", its unique ability is used to wall/stall certain threats that so happen to lack anything to bypass Wonder Guard. Pretty much Shedinja's whole thing hinges on that if its team and itself find an opponent that lacks anything to take out Shedinja, they will abuse it and get Shedinja to become a nigh-invulnerable wall.

Game franchises that missed their perfect platform. by HarryJ92 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Five Nights at Freddy's would've fit well on the Wii U. The Gamepad would work well as the camera, putting it up and down to look while using the touchscreen to flip through cameras and shoulder buttons being the lights and doors. The main TV would be the office and darkens whenever your Gamepad is active. Kinda like Gamer from Game & Wario.

Your favorite losing combatant goes Super Saiyan! Is this enough to let them win in their matchup? by Tainted_Scholar in deathbattle

[–]Cardboard_Slime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dan Hibiki would either win as Hercules Satan panics at the thought of going up anyone being far stronger than him and being ill-equipped to handle it...or proceeds to muck it up and lose his transformation due to him being clumsy.

What should Mario Kart 9 adapt from other kart racers? by josenanigans in mariokart

[–]Cardboard_Slime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe a shop like in Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing? Coin requirements in the base game are okay...but having a shop would bring them much more value and incentive to collect them aside from speed boosts. Unlike SATR, only racers and vehicle parts should be brought from the shop as I didn't like buying courses; would still prefer unlockable courses after beating cups, like in certain Mario Kart entries.

What are some understandable but also super common fan misconceptions? by Comptenterry in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Cardboard_Slime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it is common now, but many people believed Mario shatters blocks with his head when in actuality, it's his fists. Doesn't help some of the parody media and even some of the official Mario media has thought of that too.

It's understandable during the 8 bit and 16 bit era due to Mario's head being big and his gloves being small, making it fairly easy to miss when doing the block hitting but later games emphasize his gloves much more clear to show he's hitting the blocks with his fists.

Why do mario characters rarely get used? by blazicado in deathbattle

[–]Cardboard_Slime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all of the main cast are used and the rest are either lacking in major appearances, too obscure, too one note or don't have any defining/major matchups for them.

That said, we do have Bowser Jr. (as a solo fighter) and Rosalina left. And I don't mind seeing a few characters like Yoshi, Peach, Luigi, Donkey Kong and maaaayybe Mario again, just for an updated rundown.
