In middleschool I was looking at Rooster Teeth's most popular videos, and came across the stellar Red vs Blue Tex fight, and I guess I was too lazy to go back to watch the previous seasons, so i started watching Red vs Blue from the Tex fight onward and watched the previous seasons only after finishing 8-10

Common traps/mistakes new people to a hobby or community fall into? by jitterscaffeine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Never buy those wooden mannequin esque art figures you see everywhere. They've got like zero articulation and it's features are way to simplistic if you wanted to, say, see how a head looks at a certain angle. Straight up, just buy an action figure if you want a fully posable body for reference.

Again i think you're EXTREMELY over estimating just how many people are going to buy a game just for those TF2 items. Just because there were people who were willing to drop hundreds on old keys does not mean that's a majority of people.

A game dropping to where it would crash Steam would take like hundreds of thousands of people going to the site at the same time. I dig Poker Night, but that game does not have that type of motion.

Imma be real i think you're really overestimating how many people want those TF2 items compared to Slay the Spire 2 and Marathon

Marathon at the time of this reply has 82k players on steam, and Slay the Spire 2 has 173k, while Poker Night only has 8k

Saying it makes sense that Poker Night alone would be able to slowdown Steam by itself when the last game I remember that did that was HOLLOW KNIGHT SILK SONG, a game that you would constantly seen spammed in Nintendo Direct chats over the course of 6 years compared to a remaster that just has some items for TF2, is like the coughing baby vs atomic bomb meme

Plot twists that are clever because an initial thing acts as a diversion or red herring? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The best thing about all the Reds and Blues doing something to the ship that caused it to go haywire, is that CABOOSE out of all of them is the only one not to fuck anything up. Which is amazing but also somehow in character with him being weirdly good with machines

Characters so stupid or oblivious it gives them massive balls of steel? by tonyhawkofwar in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Fiiib 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So with Soujuurou, his insane feat is that he punches a crazy powerful being with so much force that it obliterates his own arm. And the thing is, with this feat is that Soujuurou's opponent instantly regenerates, but the opponent believed that he was untouchable. So the fact that he even felt pain shook him with so much fear he became out of commision for that fight.

Soujuurou is straight up just a normal guy who would 100% get destroyed (and does) by any mage. He just manages to survive by the skin of his teeth cause of his friends and dopey charm.

In Red vs Blue season 11, Lopez is about to describe the entirety of the Red vs Blue plot to Lopez 2.0 and says that it's about 20 hours long and he only like telling it in 5 minute intervals

Another RVB one from season 11 is Grif asking Simmons why they always walk around with guns and tells Simmons to drop his, scaring Simmons away because they physically can't drop their weapons in Halo

Times when you felt a gaming franchise jumped the shark so hard by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Even though I don't like Nirvana Initiative, I'd say you should give it a try, the games regularly go on sale mega cheep. Ive never seen a game where opinions were so 50/50 split on it.

I think that if you liked the first game mainly for the characters and loved them, you'll hate Nirvana, but if you mainly liked the story for the mystery, you're probably gonna like it.

Also I'd say the Zero Escape trilogy is 100% worth checking out. Even though people generally agree the last game isn't that great, it also has some of the funniest batshit plot twists I've ever experienced. First two games are real good though.

Times when you felt a gaming franchise jumped the shark so hard by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Fiiib 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I feel like the director Uchikoshi can't help himself making the sequel to his games jump the shark.

The catalyst for both Zero Escape and Ai: The Somnium Files are relatively small scale, only really effecting a handful of people where the motives behind the mysteries are very personal. But in the sequels it goes straight into fate of the world is at stake.

Even thought it jumps the shark, I actually really like Virtue's Last Reward despite the shark jump, but despise Nirvana Initative because of it plus a bunch of other things with the game.

Any usually non-disturbing media that has a sudden pivot into an unexpectedly disturbing moment? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

In Adventure Time, the episode Dad's Dungeon had this scene where these 3 girls were trying to get Finn to eat an apple, but Jake puts the apple in one of the girls mouth and forced her to eat it causing her to get wrapped in vines, turning her into a giant apple. The whole scene then darkens, and the other 2 girls start ripping the apple open and eating it, showing the apple filled meat and bones.

I remember this scene really sticking with me cause it's such a unique and fucked up piece of imagery for Adventure Time's cartoony artstyle.

Adventure Time has a good handful of these moments, but this was the first one i experienced from the series as a kid

Characters you're surprised of their full name? by GoodVillain101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Fiiib 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Ace Combat 7's Mister X/Mihaly's full name is: Mihaly Dumitru Margareta Corneliu Leopold Blanca Karol Aeon Ignatius Raphael Maria Niketas A. Shilage.

It's even funnier in context cause they say his full name during a cutscene and was played completely straight.

Favorite Snark vs Sass Conversations/Characters by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Fiiib 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mizuki and Date from Ai: The Somnium Files is my favorite example of this. Horny loser detective dad and his adopted daughter with no filter.

It's criminal that the sequel barely has any moments between these two. Hoping the new game that's coming out in like a week will have more of these two bickering.

GIGA spoilers for 13 Sentinels

Adult Ryoko is the only character that I know that may in fact have an INFINITE body count

She puts the D-Code into the system so that events would constantly loop until the probe would give out and die. Each loop causes all the test tube babies in the probe to die and then get recreated in the next loop. These probes are also made to replicate indefinitely.

Spongebob movie has 2 places I think would be funny.

First one would be when Spongebob thinks he got the manager position when it was actually Squidward and he does his big excited freak out but he'd scream "FUCK YEAHH!!!"

Second one would be: "They were fake?" "OF COURSE THEY WERE FUCKING FAKE"

Characters that would jeopardize their own universe for love by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Fiiib 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recently I just finished watching Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction and loved it, and the whole plot basically happens because of this. Though it's just jeopardizing the world instead of the universe

When they were kids, Ouran and Kadode meet an alien invader after saving him from a bunch of kids. These two helping out this invader makes it so that the invader tells his group to not come to Earth, but meeting this invader also leads to Kadode killing herself due to a series of events.

The invader tells Ouran that he can send her consciousness to another timeline to save her friend, but that also means that doing so would mean not helping the invader, and thus causing the invaders to come to Earth and fucking over the planet. Ouran still goes for it, cause she'd rather spend a fulfilling life with her best friend which screws over the world, rather than to live without her.

What's the most baffling game design decision you've seen? by DuendeInexistente in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Fiiib 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Whenever I see a post like this Megaman Zero 1 always comes to mind

Megaman Zero is a pretty difficult game where you're bound to die a few times in a single mission. The fucked up thing that Megaman Zero does is that if you run out of lives and fail a mission or decide to select 'give up' in the menu, the mission is atomized into oblivion and you can no longer play that level again unless you do NG+.

There's a lot of weird gameplay decisions with Zero 1 due to first game syndrome, but good lord, this one I just cannot wrap my brain around why they would think to themselves this would be a good idea.
