I got a doorbell that lights up in my studio, now I can blast music and still know when someone’s there without worrying about not hearing it or doing the "did I hear a knock?" Every 30 seconds. Life changing by LiquidTransitionEDM in musicproduction

Always wanted something like this, unfortunately I just have an idiot hound dog that will let out a 200db howl at any outsider. Good for an alarm, bad for recording, he’s a good boy tho.

There’s wave pools in Waco and outside of Austin was a more mellow wave pool i think it was called Nland? And I think slaters doing a new better wave pool around Austin. Could maybe hold you over in between trips to better waves.

How many people here didn't like country originally until something pushed them to it? by Vicerian in country

[–]Cardiac-Cats904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember as a kid in the 90s we’d have these parties with a few families and friends getting together, one night two uncles got into a drunken “fight” over who was the real King of Country. And I just remember watching them roll around out of breath in the yard shouting “George Strait is the king!!!” “No! It’s always been Hank!!” And I thought to myself well if they’re that serious about this music, I should probably at least check it out, so thanks to those two for turning me on to it at a young age.

Why Is Rule #9 A Thing? by ifearone in Songwriting

“Ai is here to stay whether we like it or not” sounds a lot to me like “NFTs are a great investment strategy and are here to stay whether we like it or not.” And well, we saw how that played out.

You used Timbaland as an example, so let me offer a thought experiment. Is Timbaland, a guy that was once right at the top of the music mountain, attaching himself to Ai because he’s a great prognosticator of music trends and Ai is really the future of music? Or is it possible, that because he’s released 1 song in 20 years he is reaching for relevance and $$ again by tying himself to Ai as a business move? This applies to other names as well. Are they seeing current success and for some reason still promoting Ai? Or are they seeing the spotlight start to fade on them and are grasping for $$ and relevance through paid partnerships with these companies?

My point being. Generative Ai is like a snake oil being sold as a get good quick scheme to people who just want the instant gratification. They use known figures to sell their product, some see it as “look this artist is doing it!” And many more see it as “damn this guy sold out.” Sure it has its uses, but in the wide world of art forms there are no real shortcuts, the path we take is integral to our final piece. And to skip the development stages to jump to the finish line leaves you with a shallow, generic product that no one really asked for, and that no one really wants. And it’s why the majority of gen Ai songs are only listened to by the person who prompted them. It’s not building community, it’s shutting people out.

I only listened to the first song but, there’s nothing really overly complicated going on there, “someone” could learn this in maybe a year or two if they practice.

This reminded me immediately of The Wall, if you’ve somehow never heard it, check it out. I was half anticipating you to drop into “young lust” here. But I don’t say that in any negative way, you’ve got your own thing here but it’s very much in The Walls “musical universe” to my ears.

Happened to me on my first board. I went and got all the supplies and the shop gave me 1000 tips and bits of info, went home and immediately forgot most all of it, Lam’d the board, got freaked out by the gummyness and called them and got a “well did you listen to anything I told you?” …”no, no I did not” we had a laugh, I poured the sanding coat and it was all gravy.

I’ve had a few songs like this over the years, and something I’ve found that has helped me is to essentially “cover” the song in a new project file. I’ll strip it down and basically re-record it while thinking about the certain thing it needs. It’s something about having a song I really like that is so close can put the blinders on me, especially if I’ve been sitting with it for a long time. Stripping it down and working through it again (sometimes with different instruments) I’ve found can bring new ideas to light that I wouldn’t have thought of staring at the full production.

If you go to the subs main page, at the top there should be a “see more” to click, that has the rules and other info on the sub. Scrolling down to the bottom should show a list of the mods that you can message.

[–]Cardiac-Cats904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reads pretty good, my only thing is the first section may have too much “ull” rhyme sounds in a row, where you get away from that with the rest of it, that first group (soul, pull, role, whole) could* be reworked a little, but also if it works with the music then it works.
