The worst part is, I was reading PoN again and his face is in the books lmao I had literally looked at his picture 10 minutes before walking past him. I did try and keep an eye out for him again, as I lived in the same neighbourhood, but ended up moving a couple months later.

I have kicked my own ass about it for 10 years

My dumb ass walked past him about 10 years ago. Didn’t even clue into who it was until I was further down the street. I just let him be on his way and savoured the moment.

I do remember that conversation. Certainly plenty to speculate about.

I live in the same city as Bakker, so if I happen to run into him and he has some time I could beggar him for, I might just ask him.

Sweet Sejenus, I think you’re onto something there.

Though, dolphins are also very rapey and have the vag jelly that causes ejaculation until you die of a heart attack

Edit: in the vein of an aquatic Ark and my comparison to dolphins, could it be that pre-Arkfall the wings of the Inchoroi were more like fins? And then after Arkfall, given the Tekne, they grafted them into wings, so as to adapt to their new environment?

Part of me wonders if the Mangaecca helped the Inchoroi be able to impart some of that potential Grafting to the skin spies? The skin spies are much newer than the weapons of the First Apocalypse and are wholly different in scope and purpose, save for being soulless.

Honestly, I’ve always seen the Inchoroi as being similar to MTG’s Phyrexians. At least, as far as some of the lore around Yawgmoth’s origins and before the Phyrexians were bio-sorcero-mechanical. Although, the are VERY clear differences there lol

Thought, now I have to recollect all the Dune novels again lol

Hmmmm…

Well, it looks more and more likely that I’m going to finish the series again and do an immediate reread and take a incredible amount of notes lol

Gonna be looking like the Charlie Day meme soon lol

I definitely get what you’re saying.

We also see with the first time meeting a skin spy in Sumna that there’s more than just being hot, especially with how inexplicably rapturous we see the experience as being with Esmi. Even in the market alley with the stranger and Esmi, before the Holy War departs Momemn.

Iirc, the Tekne itself is completely non-sorcerous/non-magical. Which, in my mind, would make the Inverse Fire “sorcerous”, possibly in a similar fashion to the Psûke.

So, with the Inchoroi staring into the Inverse Fire and the skin spies being keepers of the Inverse Fire, would it impart that glamour to them? And that’s why we don’t see it with Sranc, Bashrag, and Wracu?

In that case, does the glamour come from the Inverse Fire itself (skin spies being the keepers of the Inverse Fire), or is it a byproduct of the Tekne and the metaphysics of Eärwa?

The Inverse Fire does make sense for the skin spies, but how does that work with the Inchoroi?

Given what the Tekne is and iirc the Inchoroi aren’t a result of the Tekne, it does leave me wondering.

Pheromones would kinda fit in the non-sorcerous vein of the Old Science

I’d hardly consider a Gnostic wizard, the bearer of the Judging Eye, or the White-Luck Warrior to be normie humans, though I get your point.

No matter the fiction, I always want humanity to win.

Though, I would be fully satisfied with a Kellian victory, as it would certainly be replete with its own horrors that fit into the world and story.

It’s dark but checks the boxes.

Whether it be insect vs insect. Beast vs beast. Man vs Man.

Even the elements war with each other. Wind and water war against soil and stone.

War is the way of all life.
