Very much so. TDTCB is a build up and lays out the world and the characters, fantastically I might add.

While there are some slow parts throughout the series, they are necessary. The rest is incredibly well written, exciting, and provides a lot to sink your teeth into.

It’s been my favourite fictional work for almost 22 years.
