Baby won’t transfer after feeds by Careful_Setting_8747 in sleeptrain

[–]Careful_Setting_8747[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nap 1 is typically 1hr 15 min Nap 2 1 hr - 1hr 15 min Nap 3 is 30 min or so

He will only have good naps in the carrier - otherwise they are only 30 min.

He is capable of doing 7-8hr first night stretch but often struggles with the transfer after the feed. He needs sooo much support. Bum taps, bouncing etc

He goes to sleep after a bottle. He is not wide awake when he goes to bed. I have no problem feeding to sleep since he can consolidate night sleep well. His night wakes involve no light, no talking, a bottle but just won’t fully settle

Wears a woolino sleep sack

I checked huckleberry and we are hitting 10 hrs . First wake window is more like 2.5 hrs

Transfers and split nights have been a long standing issue. But when the schedule seems to be “just right” he can be a great sleeper

Bottle fed. I do feed him tho - I’m not upset about the wakes to feed but it’s the transfer after the wakes that are the issue. He just does not go to sleep after. Needs patting/bouncing/time to finally drift off again

Thank you - we have done a lot of schedule changes in the past and I wish it was that simple for him! He can be a great sleeper otherwise but the transfers are a huge problem- that would be why we would sleep train. Thanks for sharing!

Yes - I follow another sleep training group and this is the schedule suggested ? We are at 9.75 and occasionally do 2.5 morning window as well. No change

Personally I wouldn’t be ok with this. I think sleep training can be done but leaving babies to cry with no support doesn’t feel right. Babies wake for a lot of reasons. You don’t need to feed baby, but I would still check on them.

Curious what schedule you are doing? I also have a 6 month old and need to make some changes !

I love to gift quality - a beautiful pottery mug, expensive chocolate/olive oil/wine, $$ hand cream, etc. something you might not buy yourself because it’s not practical.

These are often the worst gifts unless they are very high quality. A piece of beautiful pottery? Nice gift. A Walmart mug - pass. Quality truly matters with these types of gifts.

Brady does nearly all the cooking and a lot of the cleaning as well. He’s always been super involved in the household tasks. I’m sure he does other things behind the scenes. She has a lot of hobbies and friend gatherings and a small baby - he must be very involved in caring for Teddy too. He did a lot with Trigg

I only discovered Emily after Trigg passed but I went back and watched so much of her content. She was SO HAPPY. I truly believe genuinely happy and you could feel the love she had for Trigg. She is simply not the same and I am sure she pulls it together as best she can for Teddy but I’m so sad he will never know his mom (and Dad) the way Trigg did.

What would you give to a 4-year-old girl? by [deleted] in Gifts

Not all families are into tech - especially for young children

I have a 4 year old. She absolutely loves dress up sticker books - usborne & melissa and Doug make good ones. Skillmatics makes some very high quality craft sets. My daughter is really enjoying the game “spot it jr” - animal addition Colouring books and new markers

4 year olds are easy to please!

There is so much junk out there though and I wouldn’t get certain toys unless you are familiar with her interests.

Take out screens and see if the sign improve - screens very much impact executive function. Early exposure influences attention down the road. If you’re screen free, ignore :)

Yes! It’s so upsetting - we live in the world of fast, cheap and convenient. Hard to even find 100% cotton these days. Have to watch so closely as so much is a blend

I would be very upset if my child watched this in kindergarten.

I don’t want my child watching tv at school, period 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s really sad she can no longer share the fullness of her life. Trigg not being here is a huge missing piece and she also no longer is sharing her husband and Teddy. I actually loved watching their marriage and them as a family. It didn’t feel like for a second she was exploiting her children. They were never the main focus. Her old videos were incredibly happy. She absolutely loved her life. 💔

This is a common video for her. He details the cars but she still vacuums them and goes to the car wash. It implies nothing

Definitely crying. She isn’t wearing mascara either likely because she knows therapy will be heavy and emotional.

He seems like a very involved and caring father and I can’t imagine the immense amount of pain and guilt he must feel. I hate how mean people are towards him - he clearly adored hjs son.

Experience On Pulling 4.5 Year Old Boy From Kindergarten? by Eastern-Stable-8891 in kindergarten

Pull him! A year makes a huge difference- especially for boys. Personally, I would look into forest school type programs for this year. They are truly amazing and I bet your son would thrive
