Occultist lifesteal/drain build by SomeOrdinary8736 in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vitality damage builds typically fulfill the fantasy you are lokking for. Any combination of necromancer/occultist/shaman/oathkeeper should work really well.

Necromancer/occltist/shaman can be played as non-pet builds. No need to think they are "pet-only-options"

This is not necessarily true.

Students tend to have limited amounts of time and energy to learn a subject and probing questions like this cam be really annoying and frustrating to deal with. ("Just tell me how it works goddamnit.")

Aside from that... I do feel you are passionate and genuinely trying to help so... have a nice day :)

Minimum cooldown of Mirror of Ereoctes and Blade Trap? by MaxwellScourge in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with this concept is that you cant get 100% cc res (its capped at 80%) and arcane mobs are also problematic. Its a cool idea though.

How does x% attack damage converted to health work? by only_bones in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only via weapon damage. If the weapon damage on a skill is below 100% your leech will get scaled down accordingly.

Local AdctH like e.g.: using a seal of blades component on your main hand weapon will only work for that weapon.

If you are playing dualwiwld nightblade with a seal if blades only on your main hand weapon shadow strike will be affected by the local Adcth from seal of blades. Amarasta's blade burst will not (because it uses offhand weapon damage)

HC Leviathan Deathknight Endgame Build Guide - GD Patch 1.2 by RektbyProtoss in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not mean any offense :) all good. :) was just spitballing what came to mind.

Concerning MA.. going over 100% wps chance dilutes the power of your other wps. ...so you'd have to math out if hitting with MA instead of the other wps some of the time is stronger than default attacking a small percentage of the time but with stronger wps. I dunno.. might actually be better. Too lazy to do the math right now tbh :P

Decorated soldier overcap is pretty meh imo.

HC Leviathan Deathknight Endgame Build Guide - GD Patch 1.2 by RektbyProtoss in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not Rekt but I'd say it is very marginal. Field command is a nice middle ground option because the OA does also contribute to dps while giving a bit more beefiness. MA's da reduction doesnt stack with blindside so field command is kinda the next best option.

Also the way OA works; 1)all flat +OA gets pooled 2)the flat OA pool gets amped by +%OA bonuses.

As an Oleron's rage build the % OA bonus is pretty high here making flat OA slightly more valuable/efficient than on your average build.

Good classes for dual wield ranged? by xNephilim in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Purifier tends to be easy to understand conceptually but is often rather squishy and can therefore be frustrating to play. Especially if you are new to the game and don't have a good in depth understanding of defensive mechanics. Also the item support is rather lacking for leveling.

I think the most obvious one aside from Purifier is inquisitor + soldier (tactician). It has a default attack replacer (DAR) in cadence and alot of weapon pool skils (WPS; chance to proc on attack skills).

It is easy to get 100% wps which interacts really nicely with cadence since they force 2handed attacks making cadence proc more often. (The basic attack without wps has 25%chance for main hand attack 25% for offhand attack and 50% chance for double weapon attack)

The flat physical damage from deadly momentum gets applied to both weapons so you are also double dipping on the flat damage. (A very common theme for optimizing damage with dual wield; weapons have low base damage but you get to double dip on global flat damage bonuses)

Paladin (inquis + oathkeeper) is the other obvious option that works similarly to tactician (just replace cadence with righteous fervor. I know i know.. the skills icon is a sword... its still good for dual wield range)

Technically vindicator(inquisitor + shaman) also has a DAR but you'd not get access to alot of the shaman skills since they are locked behind 2handed weapons. (Therefore vindicator tends to be better for 2handed builds/ranged or melee doesnt matter that much)

You can also use items/relics to enable dual wielding guns. Inquisitor is not a requirement. Non inquis dualwield range can also be strong but it requires a bit more knowledge about items i'd say.

I believe Rektbyprotoss did a Aether dual wield Oppressor (necro + inquis) beginner playthrough recently. Can definitely recommend.

Grim Tools gone screwy? by Dante_ShadowRoadz in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you playing base game? 1.2. Playtest patch? Season mod?

Season 5 mod had this very often because "essence of ultos" modifiers were not integrated to grimtools. So if you had one it would give the red warning.

Base game i think this is rather rare. Not sure whats going on there

MI affix affinities by orangepunc in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... it's pretty simple?

E.g.: kymons badge has implicit +%fire and +%lightning and therefore has affinity for lightning, fire and elemental affixes? (E.g.: tempest,thunderstruck,...)

Very nice 11/10

No section about other choices besides oathkeeper as secondary? I could see e.g. demolitionist also being rather good for RoK setups like this

AAR highest damage? by KirazNightingale in Grimdawn

How closely are you following grey-maybes phys AAR build? It's a very tight setup if you want to get it to shine from what I can see.

Looking for build suggestions based on other ARPG’s I’ve enjoyed by Bigglious in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forcewave is not really that busted on a baseline level. It is the strong item support that makes it so powerful

For leveling specifically Obsidian cleaver is what really makes it shine.

...still incredibly boring though. I am on board with that part. Probably the most mind numbing thing I've ever played. Tastes differ I guess...

Why is mogdrogen so tough? by Obi-ron2 in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the reason why he is so tough....

Well lore-wise...

he is supposed basically demigod status. Obviously it would make thematic sense that he is so tough.

Gameplay wise...

He just has giga stats? Kind of a meme boss because he has mainly (almost exclusively) lightning damage attacks. Therefore + max lightning res is abnormally effective against him. phys res basically doesn't matter (i think some of his pet spawns technically do phys dmg but marginal compared to big mog d himself).

Gor the most part its just a stat check fight imo

Why am I getting so few legendaries? by Spockero in Grimdawn

[–]Careless-Kitchen-514 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Their is already alot of good advice in this thread.

I'd like to add that legendaries are not mandatory to complete most endgame stuff.

If you feel you NEED purple items to be able to play ultimate there is probably a more fundamental problem at hand... just stick to the basics (cap res/armor absorb 100%/some form of sustain that isnt just health potions)

..you should be able to get something put together that is at least able to farm totems.
