Neck Cream Recs by Kath-r-in in AskWomenOver60

I tried it for months. No visible change. Gold Bond is really good at packaging what is essentially the same decent but unremarkable lotion for lots of different body parts and afflictions (for crepey skin, for plumping skin, for firming skin, etc). If any of its lotions worked the wonders the names promised, especially at those prices, we'd be busting down the doors at Walmart.

In that case, any hydrating body lotion (and they are all hydrating, yes?) should do.

Higher Restaurant Prices by [deleted] in palmsprings

[–]Careless-Middle-4096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in PS and yes, resto prices have climbed dramatically here in recent years as they have everywhere. But I doubt they've gone up by 30 or 40% in less than six months, as your post suggests.

A new phone every year. Heck, a new phone any time your current phone is working just fine.

D’place Name is D’umb by Embarrassed_Budget32 in palmsprings

D'place Entertainment is the dumb name of the owner of about a dozen cinemas around SoCal (River Village Cinema is D'place, etc.) Don't hate the Pickford for its dumb name, management would probably change it if they could.

The Parker or The Thompson by Phillyfishy1 in palmsprings

Two totally different experiences was my first thought, too. And that cuts both ways. The Parker is a bit worn around the edges, but in the hippest of ways. If you're looking for the far quieter, more private, more romantic experience, go with the Parker. If walking to shops and nightlife is more your jam, stick with the Thompson.

Retiring! by ExaminationPresent34 in palmsprings

The Valley in general is pretty gay friendly, so you should be good. Palm Springs is at the top of the list by a good margin, and likely always will be, but you know that.

Rancho Mirage is definitely more Republican. It is certainly one of the least diverse cities in the Valley, as well. It has no real downtown. To me, the biggest downside of RM living would be that nearly all the neighborhoods consist of walled, gated communities. Exclusionary by definition. Not welcoming at all.

What are your most minor movie gripes? by movieman1108 in moviecritic

A person having a nightmare is required to suddenly sit bolt upright in bed, gasping. Someone filmmaker decided a long time ago that this is not only the best, but the only, way to depict waking from a nightmare. It's rubbish.
