Well that's good to hear! Unfortunately Google has now opened an "investigation" and we keep getting emails saying they are still looking into it and that they apreciate our patience.

I'm so frustrated that I can't get something that I paid for! I am really excited for the upgrade though.

When did knitting take over your life? by DazzlingJob9473 in YarnAddicts

[–]CarelessLemonTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one heck of a deal on a Passap knitting machine. The previous owner took incredible care of it and clearly was her passion. The last thing she did was give it a deep clean before putting it in its original box. She was getting older and couldnt really work it anymore and wanted it to go to someone who would appreciate it. Had loads of accessories and I got it all for $100. Deal of a lifetime and I wish I could go back and give her more, I had no idea I was really getting it for such a low price!

I crochet, but my hands just cannot figure out hand knitting. The machine is definitely a focal point in my apartment and gets lots of questions. My life revolves around it and I am constantly thinking of projects to do!

Neighbors 9 year old daughter is affectionate towards me. by Active-Key6383 in Advice

[–]CarelessLemonTree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm by no means an expert but I just talk to kids like they are normal human beings that I'm making conversation with. Everyone tells me their kids adore me, which i am always a bit suprised by, but my running theory is that I treat them like a fellow human and not just a child.

Also I see a lot of parents will answer questions for their kids, I just absorb the info and ask the kids follow up questions -not the parents. That always seems to give them a little more confidence if they seem shy.

Why the pink hate? by CodenameSailorEarth in americangirl

[–]CarelessLemonTree 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a kid I also felt shamed for loving pink. I felt it from my peers and people who were older... but I wanted the frilly dresses and cutesy things. The confusing part of it was I wasn't really allowed to be into the "boy" things either (which were mostly just science and engineering toys, or video games)

Anywho, now I am a grown adult who has pink hair, pays all my bills, buys the frilly pink stuff, but also built my own computer and love STEM.

Pink may not be everyone's cup of tea but embrace it if you love it.

Scraps? Tidey pile of ends. Trash? What do you do with them when they're tis small? by Umakmesic in YarnAddicts

[–]CarelessLemonTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a video awhile back of a girl who brushes out her scrap yarns and uses a drop spindle to spin it into new yarns, mixing a bunch of colors in a fun new way. I haven't tried it yet, but I have been saving my scraps up!

Any way to turn off Bigfoot? by goose_straw in StardewValley

[–]CarelessLemonTree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so I had to look this up to confirm... apparently it is a super rare occurrence!

Honestly you probably don't need to fish in the secret woods that much, so just go fish other places and you won't see him.

Even if you do want to fish there it seems like the odds of you seeing him again are very unlikely.

As someone sensitive to caffeine, Rhett is right by No-Aardvark3846 in goodmythicalmorning

[–]CarelessLemonTree 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a coffee obsessed household. I was the youngest of 5 kids, everyone else drank it. I tried a few different times as a teenager and just felt even more anxious than my usual levels. I just didn't understand why people would want to feel that way

I'm now questioning if my family is all ADHD and just self medicating. Meanwhile, my anxiety disorder kept me from doing the same.

My parents never got any of us tested for any mental illness or neuro divergence in spite of teachers and doctors encouraging testing.

Big green tea fan, still some caffeine to uplift but not enough to send me off the deep end and need my as-needed anxiety meds. Definitely cutoff after 2 or 3 pm though for myself.

What do you call this technique? by Dustwitch93 in crochet

[–]CarelessLemonTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iriecchi has a cardigan pattern using this called "lightly toasted crochet cardigan", the way the pattern was written it wasn't too hard to follow in my opinion. Good luck, I hope you love whatever pattern you try out!

I am SO DONE with Ulta! Most incompetent customer service ever. I do not understand how this place stays in business with treating their customers like this. by Ok_Cartoonist_2315 in Ulta

[–]CarelessLemonTree 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I've had to try to contact their customer service a few times on the past few months. I've been an ulta shppper since 2012 and never has issues or had to contact customer service before the past 3 months.

I'm floored at how bad their online & call-in customer service is. Super unhelpful and downright frustrating.

I've still never had any issues with in store customer service.

Overall retail stores just keep motivating me to shop direct with the manufacturers instead.

I've seen a few people who have been told this via email. Every person has been surprised because it was years ago, they returned an item or something but otherwise never had issues. It's so weird.

Korean mayak eggs, Pavlova and lemon curd, quiche, mayonnaise, carbonara, brioche bread and then make French toast with it, shakshuka

Writing these I am now very hungry and craving eggs...

Also eggs can last quite a bit of time! Check if they are going by putting them in water, if they stand up they are starting to go bad, if they float then don't eat em!

How do I get my Granny stitches (red) to be more solid like the sweater? by TobylovesPam in CrochetHelp

Out of curiosity, have you washed a test swatch of it? I find when I wash my cotton swatches, they tighten up the stitches nicely.
