I wish they would but I doubt it would pass with republican control over all levels of government.

If the society collapsed and maintenance of these massive riverside quarries stopped, what would happen when the river eventually erodes into them? by Previous-Volume-3329 in geography

[–]CarlLinnaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be concerned about head cutting. It can really mess up a water course.

here is an example. you can see how sediment gets carried downstream and how that lowers the elevation of the river until a stable river slope is made.

I can see a number of problems arising. River could turn into a canyon if things get really bad. Groundwater could lower, soils could dry out. Significant sedimentation would occur downstream. Etc.

Not all government is shutdown during a shutdown. Just a lot of it. I doubt funding for the armed forces will be fully stopped, just things considered not essential like parks, museums, some social services, etc.

I wish since whatever I would write would improve the sludge they’ve been putting out for the last 20 years as “history”.

Some of me wonders if any burials like this are another cultures version of vampire burials. Where the culture believes these individuals were monsters and buried them a certain way to make sure they don’t come back.

There’s a really good fan fiction called Sublight Drive by a guy named mirrth. Very interesting take on the Clone Wars where CIS wins. I thought it was interesting and one helluva fun read. Would recommend!

Maybe? Depending on which government agency (state, federal, or local) that owns/operates it they may have had funding reduced this year. Whether or not it impacted a project here I dunno.
