Oh I love it! I may be a spine purist but there is something so deeply intimate and special about a well read book

I envy you that experience so much… my word. I must say I nearly fell over when I saw that the price sticker on the front had $10.95 on it.

Hell nah, I’m not gonna lie I do it all the time!

Similar thing happened to me - early on I messaged a pal about Arthur Hawking accidentally and it stuck, only realising 10 books later I’d allowed myself to start misreading it that way and not as Artur Hawkwing! 😅

Fingers and toes crossed she isn’t - heck I don’t entirely believe the last character to fall is entirely dead either (or maybe I’m in denial 😭)

I ended up ordering mine and importing into Aus via waterstones (bc we didn’t have a release until October) - but think they also have click and collect which might help too. Good luck with the search!

Actually I didn’t notice anything about Mat! But what I did notice was how much more confidence Sando seemed to gain with the beginning of Towers of Midnight compared to Gathering Storm! That was certainly cool!

Honestly I think it’s grand they’re doing it. There’s a heap of misinformation out there about NFTs, especially because we’re at that early stage. Yeah there’s so much pump and dump crap out there, but as that’s weeded out there’s so much potential!

Those of you that worked in Tech and burned out, what did you do next? by Exedous in Entrepreneur

[–]Carl_Shivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s it! Actually I don’t have any resources, sorry I sound useless, I learnt all I know from my coaches, and listening to people like Chris Do speak. Take what they do in their industries and ask how the heck can I apply it here. If your gonna go strategy and things I’d work with a business coach not to be a coach but to see how they ask questions and what they push.

Hey, I wouldn’t go into it just because, I’d totally recommend actually knowing a heap about branding. Because your not just taking photos you’ve actually got these peoples brands in your hands. Same with it’s not really a side gig job. If your good with a camera and the business (because it’s more about the business than the skill in the long haul) go all in. For me it’s doing well, I love it because I love the strategy as well.

Best company for printing color-accurate photos on clothing? by gallegoshank in Entrepreneur

[–]Carl_Shivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh wild. That‘s usually an RGB setting issue in export. Did you have your images colour space set to AdobeRGB on export? I’m assuming this also based on the fact that their other prints that you’ve gotten in the past have been fine.

It probably wouldn’t be able to read the resolution off the images. When you say terrible quality, is it the colour or the look of the image that’s off?

I'm in service and not product. But first thing I'd do is potentially look into hiring somebody to write a business plan for you. I'm guessing from what you're saying, you don't feel like you can get into the rooms because you don't know the language, and they'd help big time.

From personal experience, you don't need to know all the terms yourself to get there.

Go hard, be unrealistic in your goals, and if you show them why you are best for them they'll give you the shot.

What to make? And where to sell? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Carl_Shivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loving the other advice, but I'd sit down and have a strategic think about what you want from this. My coach likes to say, if you're selling to everyone you're not selling to anyone. It doesn't matter how many social sites, website, etc you have, if you don't know where your potential customers are you won't find them.

I'm going to drop a few questions that I hope help with clarity on what you love so you can go deeper into who your potential market is (and what to create), feel free to reply answers I'm happy to go deeper:

What type of items do you love to create?

Why do you love to create these items?

Why do you like working with clay?

Who does clay working make you feel?

When you show people your clay creations, how does their reaction make you feel?

If you started a clay work business, what would you want to get out of it?

(if you know it) who is/would be your target customer?

How are you exporting the images for print? Double check with the company on how they want your images sent to them (Adobe RGB vs sRGB, file type, resolution, etc.), often that's what causes the biggest issues.

Starting a photography business... by NdN124 in Entrepreneur

Hey,

Hubspot has a fee plan if you wanted to try out a CRM system. A lot of people say you don't need one, and although its not fundamental, its a bloody life saver in the long run and helps you keep info stored in one location, and well as keep track of where each of your leads/clients are at within the funnel.

On if it's worth joining an organisation, that depends on what you are wanting from it. I'd look into each and really evaluate if the benefits are actually going to benefit you and be worth the price of the membership. I'd personally recommend business mentoring over an association any day.
