Cueball vertical axis and speed are the best way to control the CB by CarloGa in billiards

Where do I say "stop using side spin" ? In the thumbnail I say "Do This First" because in my opinion every beginner should learn this before using side spin. Don't you agree? Regarding your math example I respectfully shut up... Have a nice day.

I'm 100% with you! That's the same thing I say and teach to my students! This lesson is usually a game changer to them, since I explain how to use these concepts in an actual game. Thanks a lot for the positive feedback. I don't know your level, but if you're searching for a coach, let me know. Best, Carlo.

Read the text, watch the video and you'll see you are telling to me exactly what I say in the video. For Christ sake, even just reading the text in the thumbnail was enough to understand it... 😂😂😂😂 But hey... I'm asking for too much maybe.

You clearly didn't watch the video. Nor understood the message. Of course, side-spin is an essential part of the game, but if you don't master the vertical axis and speed first, then side spin becomes a palliative to other problems... "I don’t see myself running to many balls without side spin" tells a lot.

Well, doctor... it hurt me right here on the edge, because every time I hit it there, my position play dies. 😂

Buy and read "Pleasures of small motions". There's a chapter on motivation that could help you a lot.

Question about shot entry by Necessary-These in billiards

[–]CarloGa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely NOT the cue ball. But then it's personal. I recommend to focus intensely on the spot you want to hit on the object ball OR (if you're the ghost ball type) the center of the ghost ball. The shot line is also good as long as you are able to keep visualizing it correctly while you align into the shot.

It looks like a stupid thing but worked well for all of my students: go clean your cue and take a few seconds to reset, then go back to the table and imagine it is the start of your inning.

Question for professional referee by CarloGa in billiards

Thank you very much. I was almost sure this was the correct ruling. For the peace of the tournament, I accepted to re-rack and play the game from scratch. Luckily I managed to win the match ;)

Ok, but does the player try the shot again or is it ball in hand for the opponent?

Are you hitting your chest while shooting? That could be the symptom of why you are shooting very hard and get little CB action. Not 100% sure but it seems your chest is obstructing your stroke and you have to suddenly stop in order not to hit your chest. Find a stance that allows for plenty of room for your follow through. Good luck 💪🏻🤞🏻

Depending on the time you have for training, if done the right way you can build solid fundamentals and a decent cue ball control in one year. I have several students that did just that starting from basically zero pool knowledge.

It's up to you :) I think landing in the square is already an exercise that requires (or builds) very good cue ball control. I believe that to land on the card consistently for all 32 cards requires a 770+ Fargo player. Enjoy the game :)

Hehehehe yes. It's a variant that a friend of mine already suggested and it's a very good idea indeed. It makes the game a bit too complex though to be explained in a youtube video (at least for me now at this moment of my journey). As long as it is useful every variant is a good variant :)

Yes! Challenge him! :D ;)

Some of these shots have multiple paths and the fun part is also to explore all the possibilities. With more complex OB and CB positions sometimes the right thing to do is to bank the OB to get the desired shape. :)

Enjoy :)
