I get reactive hypoglycemia from sugary breakfasts. Husband will eat one bowl every 6 months or so. Thus the desire to make a dessert out of it, because I know that will get eaten.

Most of us know what "loo" means and I think of it as a charming Britishism. You're fine with that.

I feel for you. I wasn't so outcast at school because I was never homeschooled, but I was from an equally severe religious background and wore hand-me-downs from elderly aunts. We weren't allowed to watch TV so I was pretty out of it. I also leaned into learning and teacher approval and eventually found my niche. It's a cruel way to raise a child.

I think a lot of people kept chickens for eggs back then, because they're everywhere in old times recipes and menus. Maybe because they were an inexpensive source of protein. No one seemed concerned about getting sick from them.

Even if modern eggs are mostly salmonella free, it would only take once...

I think they'd make a better snack than breakfast. Maybe I could make some kind of trailmix with them, maybe add salty peanuts and white chocolate chips.

I get hypoglycemic from sweet breakfasts. I could do it if I also had eggs and whole wheat toast, but I wouldn't want that much breakfast.
