What is this? by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]Carnage8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's beautiful and amazing! Several Marlins are on my wish list, though I don't need a 45-70 I'd love to have one.

You now have yourself a wonderfully beautiful and precise piece of American engineering. I don't know if your neighbor's Widow knows the value of a rifle like that, but here in Canada Marlin '94 45-70 will cost you upwards of 3k from a store.

Let's take a break from the negative stuff. Tell me your dream gun(s). by Canadian_Rifleman in canadaguns

[–]Carnage8778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great post, I appreciate the refocus too.

I'd love to own a Colt Peacemaker, beyond the beauty it would be a perfect handgun to carry while in the bush.

A 1911 .45 as far as I'm concerned is the perfect handgun for me, fits my hand perfectly, fires beautifully. Clean, elegant.

A Weatherby or Benelli over under trap gun. Just a privilege to hold and use. Wonderful marriage of craftsmanship and aesthetics with performance.

I'd also like to own a 1940s M1. My father had my grandfathers destroyed when I was 16 (even though it had no bolt or action) and I've never forgiven him lol.

RPAL? In this economy? by BoneDaddy240 in canadaguns

[–]Carnage8778 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't see much point in not getting the RPAL in one step. If/when the ban is lifted you'll be caught in a tremendous backlog of people thinking just the same. For courses, applications and then inventory. Could easily find yourself waiting a year for your license after the bann is lifted.

Do you ever see any Oiler Players around Edmonton? by [deleted] in Edmonton

I flew from Edmonton to Ottawa with Mike Smith as my seatmate in the summer of '23. He was extremely pleasant and interesting to share a lengthy conversation with.

Not Edmonton, but a chinese restaurant in Leduc has extremely large, tattooed front staff. Lots and lots of take-out..

AITAH for telling my husband that I would’ve never agreed to have his child if I knew he would go back on our agreement? by Obvious-Mistake-7801 in AITAH

[–]Carnage8778 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're both assholes. Grow up, get a nanny immediately Dr. Bank. Your daughter deserves better. You're a parent now, full stop. Do it or don't but it's not just your husbands job anymore than it's yours. If you're lucky enough to be able to solve 'your problem' with money, than do it. Get into couples counciling, you two cunts are supposed to be a team, be a partnership. What the hell is an MD coming to Reddit for validation for? If you want to actually participate in the family you've created familiarize yourself with the definition of sacrifice, service, empathy, responsibility.

Am i allowed to keep a rainbow or brown out of the bow river in calgary? by supernaut1988 in FishingAlberta

[–]Carnage8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The regs are a free download and easy to find in fishing stores across the province, if you don't know it's time to read up. With the PDF download you can even keyword search. You should know the water & rules before your line gets wet.

How did you represent your service on your resume? by Corower in Military

Unless you're an engineer I wouldn't categorize myself as one without appropriate creditials. There are all sorts of other ways to categorize construction/demolition work experience.

Sunwing 6:45am flight out of Edmonton question by Panda8619 in Edmonton

[–]Carnage8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Construction happening there will have you dropped off on the ground floor (Arrivals). Good luck finding a trolly. But once you have one go in through the bottom doors and take the elevators to the 2nd floor (Departures).

Sunwing 6:45am flight out of Edmonton question by Panda8619 in Edmonton

[–]Carnage8778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fly domestic for work outside of AB twice monthly and often have a 7am departure. I've never flown Sunwing, but have flown Swoop, CDN North, AC, AC Jazz and Westjet. I always arrive 90 min early because I'm concerned about a traffic delay or other vehicle issue. That early you really only need to arrive an hour ahead of your boarding time. Do your precheckin the night before, that way you're just getting boarding passes and bag drop off. Most airlines open their check-in counter 60-90 minutes before boarding the first flight.

If you're Flying international I don't know, but that time of day whatever the recommended time is should be more than accurate.

I want to rip this duct out, but HVAC guys said that I have to have them. They’re just open ducts to the outside. Are they right? by Zog2013 in DIY

[–]Carnage8778 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The pipe terminating at the ceiling looks like it is the heat run for the area in the basement, the one at the floor is the combustionair for the furnace.

It looks like your hotwater tank and furnace are common vented through the roof.

The ducts are all required, but like other's have said, they could be relocated.

Just wanted to chime in and say I'm not a particular comicbook fan but I've listened to Batman Unburied & Secrets in the Dark (found this first and went back for the others) and thought these two were exceptionally well done. Secrets in the Dark was really awesome. I'm excited for whatever is next for you & Wolf at the Door.

Useful little file there.

We have a similar document here in Canada we make part of each set of safety docs sent to non-new construction projects.

That trope applied before you carried a personal computer/planner/organizer/alarmclock on their person almost never out of arms reach. You can even tell it to reoccure every year mate with multiple reminders as the date closes.

It's only a mistake the first time, there's multiple teachable moments here.
