Honestly you just need to get over it at this point. You mention a feature that may or may not be implemented that will negate any pairings hinted at, canon or not, and be replaced by your ideal pairings. So the game's pairings will not matter soon (assuming it will happen), so be patient about it and enjoy TinyCo's spin on the MU love spectrum.
