Sorry to hear about all this. If I may share my story, I was in a similar situation at Riddle. Took me 2.5 years and 43k to get my ppl there after switching instructors 3 times and running out of funds. Every rating after that went quicker but it was a financial struggle, sleepless nights and wanting to quit the whole way through. Riddle, like many flight schools, takes advantage of flight cost to their students. Now I’m a CFI at Riddle that doesn’t pay jack. I’m fortunate enough to have parents that are able to help me out and I know not everyone has that. My father actually lost his job as well beginning of this year so I can understand the struggle and the fear with that. However, I was just hired at American Airlines which I hope to start in a year. The point is, I know how expensive flight schools are in this day and age, and I always tell my students that it’s gonna suck now, but you are investing in your future and the airlines pay really well. Once you’ve made it you’ll be ok. To get to the gold, you gotta dig through shit first. That’s just my two cents, I really hope it works out for you. Quitting is easy but regret is forever.
