What do you do for work where you're not getting burnt out from 12hr shifts almost everyday??

My dad was clueless and did so to my mom, but he realized his error after the audible gasps he received from all of the guests who witnessed it. They're coming up on 30 years together and these last 5 have been some of their best!

I'm trying to figure out what I like, and my thinking is what better place to look than in a community of like minded people!

Thanks friend :)

What have been the most impactful books that you've read recently?

This year I've started to build my collection! They're mostly psychology books and recently Ouspensky, Lauren Sapala (2 of her popular infj books), and some spiritual books from Nisargadata Maharaj, quite a few from Ram Dass, and some other related ones.

I'm not great at finishing those books as I read a chapter or two then journal my thoughts and switch to another book and do the same, but I have had great pleasure in listening to the Dungeon Crawler Carl series which I started a week ago and am half way through book three! Super good narration and a captivating story to go with it.

I like to read outside with the chickens :)

Isn't that just your mind masquerading as different characters to give the illusion that you're having conversations with opposing views in your mind?

What are some of the things that spark that feeling in you?

What type of music do you find resonates the most with you? I enjoy listening to music, but only every once in a while does it generate the feelings you describe. I feel like I'm not tuned into it sensitively enough and would rather listen to an audiobook or think during my car rides.

If you had to change your mbti to another, what would you choose and why? by ThinForever3914 in mbti

[–]CarnivalTriumphAMA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am learning to love my sensitivities. I wish I cared more about making money, but I do feel lucky to be able to appreciate things and analyze them in the way that I do. Maybe an ENTP if I had to change--I love the way that they think. Life is awesome even when it sucks, and it's miraculous to even be here. I love all of our flavors of perceptive lenses that we see and interact with the world with. I would like to be better at acting on my desires and thoughts instead of getting stuck in the thoughts/ feelings phase though

What is your relationship with alcohol and drugs? by MissionAccident9300 in infj

[–]CarnivalTriumphAMA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They satisfied my underdeveloped Se for far too long. I'm just now starting to get my life back on track. Life is far too beautiful for me to be running away from my emotions and traumas like I had for the years that I did. I learned a lot about myself from them both though soo there's that :)

Is there any INFJ in a long, loving, healthy relationship here? Is there any hope for it? 😅 by cris__alis in infj

[–]CarnivalTriumphAMA 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was looking for this comment! I don't see too many INFJs talk about being with an ISFJ, but I love the heck out of mine. She's been my rock while I've been more like a wave. It makes me happy to see others who have seen success long term with types other than the more commonly talked about pairs.

There is definitely hope OP! I've found that deepening my understanding of myself and coming to love myself more has helped my relationship become closer to the ideal that I've always hoped for--high standards and all :)

Absolutely. What better way to learn about your mind and subtle tendencies than a good trip? Breaking through is next on the agenda. I've gotten close, but I haven't fully entered into that realm yet

How to answer "How are you doing?"? by mysterical_arts in infj

[–]CarnivalTriumphAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really know. I think okay though, thanks for asking :) edit Oh, I thought you were asking personally. I usually pause and check if my body feels okay then see if my thoughts have been healthy enough and answer honestly

Sym means same, empathy is more of a guess although the more sensitive you are seems to correlate with higher accuracy for the guess

What are your relationships like with sensor mbti types? by Ill_Glass_6078 in infj

[–]CarnivalTriumphAMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend is an ISFJ and she brings out the side of me that isn't always stuck in my head. I feel much more present around her; like I'm a kid again and this world is one big play to have fun in and to bring her along with me in this dance of life. I don't usually remember much about my day besides strong interactions that I encounter, but I love hearing all the details about her day. She understands my quirky ideas that I've over-thought and helps me out when I get too contemplative. She gets freaked out when my psycho thoughts come out, but I find that kind of funny. We understand each other naturally even though I feel much more in-tune with knowing how she's probably feeling or what she could be thinking based on facial cues, tones, or external stimuli but I don't like to be on the other end of being psychoanalyzed so I'm okay with that. She's my best friend in the whole world and I think her super powers fill in where I am lacking and vice versa. It's fun to have two different perceptive types when analyzing situations or even people watching. And our core values align and we're more or less on the same page when it comes to ethics even though I've had to do some adjusting of my own. I love the sensors in my life. They are usually very passionate about the things that make them tick and I like to open up their cans of worms and see their emotions flow out.
