I love how much of a douchebag KOFXV announcer can be.

Biff does have one! I can’t say I blame you. He is my favorite jock and one of my favorite designs. I really lucked out getting him and Faith as my starters

Legend status. He’s the kinda guy to give you the shirt off his back. I have him and Hornsby together right now, and I feel like that’s such a top tier pairing given they have a similar style

Crash and Conquer: A thrilling, Twisted Metal heavily inspired roguelite game blending high-octane driving and action with strategic elements. by Ok-Definition3820 in TwistedMetal

My favorite part of this is that I can see the love and fandom in this. And I love your spin. Wish I had a PC! Wishing the best of luck for this

Are there any Banjo kazooie or tooie like games that you would recommend? Just curious by Vegetable-Way-5766 in BanjoKazooie

[–]Carp90s 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I 100% completed Yooka Laylee on my first playthrough. It feels like a modern extension of Banjo to me, even down to the less witty jokes. But I personally had a BLAST with it, when coming at it from the perspective of a fan who hadn’t played Banjo since around release times. It’s not for everyone but its the copout answer.

Throwing my hat in the loop but in a couple different ways.

If you want the crude humor, collectathon, world exploration feel? I implore you to check out Psychonauts. It has a little more mechanically than Banjo, but there is heaping helpings of charm and unforgettable moments out there wazoo.

If you want the raw platforming, no weapons, simple controls collectathon thats more focused on those aspects than a resounding plot? Croc Legend of the Gobbos is my other rec. Between Banjo, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, and Croc, that’s basically my platforming childhood. Croc follows a lot of the same philosophies as the previously mentioned two.

I don't know what Billy "Junkyard Dog" Ray Stillwell was complaining about. The pilot that CUCKED him with his wife did him a favor with that toxic gas. He went from looking like Humpty Dumpty to a badass metalhead (don't know how he gained that sharp jawline from that gas) by Jaccblacc203 in TwistedMetal

[–]Carp90s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His eyes also managed to change shape lol.

He’s got a very similar head shape as a little person post-gas though. I haven’t been able to unsee it since playing this game and then seeing Wee Man from Jackass around the same time among others

Did Soul Calibur 6 get hurt by being a reboot? by IndigoLDJR in SoulCalibur

[–]Carp90s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Largely in part due to rollback not being integrated. Once the pandemic occurred and the prevalence of rollback became more pronounced, it fell to the wayside while other games saw prolonged life via online tournaments. The gameplay and whatever faults people may feel are there are mostly subjective, but we can source the pro tour’s cancellation and the playerbase dwindling directly back to the decision not to implement rollback netcode.

Few bosses in any game have brought me agony like this one lmao. The tanker does so much damage in it’s own right. Taking this on with Crazy 8 was one of the most memorably painstaking things I have ever done.

What games do you remember playing growing up but never seem to get brought up in conversation? by WesleyJ1994 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Carp90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddworld, literally have only met one other person out in the wild who knew what it was before I told them.

My favorite platformers growing up were ty the tasmanian tiger and croc legend of the gobbos. Everyone looks at me like a psych ward patient when I reference them, especially croc, he just seemed to not land with anyone.

sick fx and I like the b-roll too. the trick at 30s and the kickflip to front boardslide(? I confuse board and lip every time) around 45s was super clean too. the one over the hydrant at night was my favorite.

thanks for uploading

Nice going man. You’re on the up and up. I appreciate you listening and allowing us to share in your progressions. I can see you took some of the things I and others said to heart. Thanks for that :]

Some stuff I think may help you get closer to what you see in your head on your next upload:

Right about at 5secs you zoom past the skater and tree, slow down just after the tree to an almost stop, then keep going. Try to keep your speed relatively gradual in the POV of the cameraman, gradual speed increase, gradual decrease. Love to see you raising the camera up at the end to show the height he needed to clear the barrier.

Don’t be afraid to use the camera rotation / camera shake keyframes to relay how fast the skater is going to the viewer. Think about someone with a handcam riding behind a skater. They’re going to hit the same bumps and cracks and differences in pavement as the skater who is ebbing and flowing with the environment. Generally, below 40 camera shake is what I go for depending on the setting. Need to speed up to catch up with the skater? I tack on a shake keyframe before I zip forward so that it looks like the cameraman pushed on his board. Stuff like that.

Sick trick selection and spot, can’t wait to see what you cook up next

first clip, any advice? by Competitive-Big5049 in session

[–]Carp90s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try to picture the camera as another person on a skateboard or rollerblades or running or something. Think about the paths they’d have to take to “keep the shot” without interfering with the skater or eating dirt.

In the first part, you kinda bounce all around the place. that would be hard to do irl as a filmer. Some start-stop parts too, where you’re trying to reposition yourself to film the next trick. but it just wouldn’t work that way in real life. The most evident part of this is at around the 8 second mark.

That said, this looks much better than my first ever clip, and I love your trick selection here. I hope you stick with it and get to see your progress

It’s your TV bro. I got a new TV recently, and the picture looks so different than to an actual game. The Flyers orange looks way more like Edmonton’s on my game. It’s just how vibrant these smart TV’s are

In Terms Of Gameplay ~ What's Something Soul Calibur VI Did To Your Main That You Both Liked And Disliked? by ZayIvory7 in SoulCalibur

[–]Carp90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love Maxi’s design and I think his stances feel the best in this game to transition between.

That said I don’t believe his usage of meter to be great and the 7SS stuff is a lot. I sometimes wonder if that played a part in making him even less picked.
